My 11-year old is using BJU Grammar 7 because her sister used it for 7-10 grade and loved it. We used another company's materials for K-6 and switched to BJU for 7 on up. My daughter found it to be extremely self-explanatory. She thought the material was very easy to use independently. All of her questions were answered in the text. Also, with the curriculum, many helps and extras are included. The way the extra helps are presented, you don't feel overwhelmed or forced to incorporate the extras, but they are there if extra practice on certain skills are necessary. I would, without hesitation, recommend BJU 7th grade Grammar (also, all their grammar materials up through 12th grade). If you value your student working independently, this curriculum is for you.
