I am delighted by this book. While I have read numerous books and articles on the Sabbath (from Gilfillan, Haldane, Dabney and J. Murray to Pipa, Adams, Chantry and Knecht), this one may be the most important simply because it gets to the heart of the issue. McGraw explains well why it is that people - in this generation in particular - find the concept of Sabbath so difficult. It should not surprise us that a worldly Church should find so little satisfying about a day of worship. Nor should it surprise us that revival continues to tarry when so much of the Church lives in total disregard of a commandment that ought to be a favourite among the people of God. At issue is what we think of God! While McGraw's piece is not an apolegetic, it may be the very thing needed in this age of sleepy half-hearted Christians.

While I have learned to call the Sabbath a delight, I still came away deeply convicted. Here is a book with many wonderful insights, warnings and pleadings. Please don't dismiss the Sabbath until you have read this book! And if you are convinced read it anyway. You may discover you've been missing the point.
