I love the Story of the World series. My kids are always asking for more. This is an excellent presentation of world history and I would add an unbiased account. Bauer has really done us all a great service with her easily accessible series.

This is our second year using Story of the World - and we have really enjoyed using it! I read aloud from the book (my sister lets the littles listen to the stories on cd), and we do the review questions, and a written narration afterwards - there are tons of fun activities (dressing up, games, crafts, cooking (which seems to be the favorite so far - all the recipes have turned out really well!) - I also like the coloring sheets - even my older children color them, and they are good fine motor practice for my eldest, whose handwriting is abysmal :). We've got out a ton of great books to go along through interlibrary loan, learned a whole bunch i wasn't taught in school, and this is probably our favourite part of the homeschool day...
