I only made it into the second chapter - let that be said from the start. I WANTED to like this book and grow from it, based on the other reviews. But the writing is scattered, and the author is content to accept spurious knowledge as "fact" from 3rd parties who are unknown to me. Case in point: he accepts that Paul wrote Hebrews because a friend of his had a vision in which he asked God who wrote Hebrews, and he said "Paul." From then on in the book, rather than saying "the author of Hebrews," he says, "Paul.".
He makes a case about the "sons of men" as mentioned in Job, Genesis and Hebrews as being men, not heavenly beings, which comes off as nothing but opinion and unstable logic. This approach, which felt like the spiritual equivalent of junk science, alarmed me.
I then put down the book and tried to find out more about the author -credentials, education, statement of faith - and only found his website that boasts about his fame and begs for donations so that he can purchase a $3,000,000 airplane to take him to his speaking engagements. His church has no website that I could find -it's all in his name, asking for donations and bragging about the author. It disgusted me. I put the book down and put it in the recycle bin.
I hope he really is a man of God. But I would be cautious following anything from this book. I want to know God and work with His angels. We all know there are plenty of deceitful spirits out there who would eagerly masquerade as one of God's angels, if they could find an opening. This book seems like it could be one of those openings. Caveat emptor.
