The tip of the pencil doesn't stay extended. To keep the tip from retracting, you have to hold the pencil at an unnatural angle. When you do it that way, it marks with a very thin, pale line. I've needed to go over and over and over the same words to actually "highlight" it. Otherwise, you can barely see what you've marked. Don't bother getting these highlighters even as cheap as they are. You're throwing your money away.
I considered the gel type marker of this general product, but I am allergic to the chemical smell.
I had bought dry yellow highlighters many years ago, expecting now, they would be the same-a sharp, neon yellow color. They are not. Although the yellow color comes through and highlights, it is slightly darker and a wee bit harder to put pen to paper. I think this is due to the size and shape of the color stick itself; it is too thin and the round shape makes highlighting a slightly uncomfortable wrist position. However, it does what it is meant to do.
There are no reviews for this product, so that should have been a clue for me. Nevertheless, I will keep and use them and at some point buy different ones.
I would recommend them, but with full disclosure of my experience.
I usually will not write a review unless it is postive! However,These are so bad ,The points do not stay out! You can actually pull the marker out of it's holder & It will not allow You to use them because the point will not stay out! Why not sell one where is a spring or some way to use the underliner without it coming OUT!?
