Product DescriptionA wealth of information on most of the Greek New Testament--all in non-technical language! This reader's companion series clarifies many of the English words that do not fully capture the meaning of original Greek words. Includes topical word and devotional studies, book studies on most of Paul's epistles, and Wuest's New Testament--An Expanded Translation.
Wuest used interpretative material based on the Greek text, some original with the author and some selected from other Greek authorities such as Marvin Vincent and Henry Barclay Swete. The order of the Greek words has been preserved as much as possible so the reader may see where the Greek places the emphasis. Polished diction has been sacrificed in the in interest of clarity and a closer adherence to the style and force of the Greek text.

8 of 29 Reviews Showing:(View All Reviews) Reviewed by pete (Cape Coral Fl), October 07, 2009I love Wuest. He takes you into the use of the Greek word in the setting in which it is found. I get so much more than from just a dictionary or concordance. I only gave it 3.5 stars because it only covers a part of the New Testament. That is very disappointing. This would be a good addition to a collection of word studies. Also the books do not lie open. They snap shut unless you are holding them open. This makes it difficult to write something down as you are studying. Reviewed by Buddy Mitchell (Houston, TX), September 20, 20091. This commentary is very much worth having along with N.T. commentaries by A. T. Robertson, Marvin Vincent, W. E. Vines etc.! 2. The reason I didn't give a full 5 stars is because of the publisher. You must be very careful with these books! They will fall apart! This is my second set. God will bless all believers who study God's word and submit to it. Sincerely, Buddy Mitchell Reviewed by Yip-wah Law (Nsw 2120,), May 26, 2009It is a danger of shopping over the internet, not knowing the contents of the work in detail. I was expecting it like William Barclay's New Testament words. A book on the words, rather than a commentary of the Greek words as it appears in the books Be careful in purchasing set of works. It may not be what you are after. This particular purchase is certainly disappointing. Reviewed by Bruce Wolz (Mishawaka, IN), April 23, 2009I found this set to be very helpful, in an easy to understand format. It is a great addition for any collection of study books on the Bible. Reviewed by Brent (Texas), August 07, 2008After 30 years of studying New Testament koiné Greek, Wuest is hands down the best at translating. Vines, as well as Vincent's does not come as close to correct syntax and especially concerning semantics. Reviewed by Robert Jarvis (Iowa), August 05, 2008I sold this set because it is not near as good as "Vincent's Word Studies". Reviewed by Mike Dunaway (Lomita, CA), July 01, 2008What a valuable resource. I've started a mini Bible study with a friend, and this gives me so much insight into God's word to share with her.
