A story of the journey
Signs, Wonders , and a Baptist Preacher is the latest book that IâÂÂve received from Chosen Books for reviewing.
The book tells ChadâÂÂs story and struggles, as he starts off from a typical conservative viewpoint... and finds himself more and more wanting to see things like Jesus did in this world. As he asks, the more things begin happening.
The book seems to aim to convince the reader from a more conservative background that seeing supernatural really is possible. He tries to ease into this gently, openly admitting at times that these are things he normally would have thought of as crazy.
Towards the end of the book, he does get a bit more into the hows... with encouragement to try praying for someone and see what happens.
ChadâÂÂs story is interesting to read, and itâÂÂs good to see that God can always use even anxious and normal people in big ways and supernatural things.

A Faith Walk Worth Exploring
Chad Norris spends the majority of his novel describing a faith transformation that took him from a mundane, pseudo-relationship with God, to one that is vibrant and full of the Lords voice, healing, and direction. Norris doesn't spend much time sentimentalizing this transformation, but instead describes why he was resistant to the supernatural and what led him to seek it and finally embrace it on a daily basis. In the first part of this book, I noticed that I had a hard time concentrating. As I re-read time after time I wondered if the book was boring or poorly written. As Norris's ideas (and writing style) began to sync with my brain, I realized that perhaps my mind kept wondering while reading because this book left me with many things to contemplate. I enjoy the fact that I interacted with this novel and that Norris gives some simple steps that he himself took to get to the deep faith walk he now desperately wants to share with others. If nothing else, when I was finished with this book I had a deep desire to read scripture and return to the roots of everything; the miraculous life and person of Jesus Christ.

A New Way Of Thinking and Operating With God
Chad Norris in his new book, "Signs, Wonders and a Baptist Preacher" published by Chosen Books shows us How Jesus Flipped My World Upside Down.
From the back cover: What If the Supernatural Were Really Real?
Growing up in a traditional Southern Baptist home, Chad Norris loved sweet tea, football and Jesus. But when he realized that the Jesus he had heard about in Sunday school and seminary didn't measure up to the Jesus he read about in the Bible, he began to ask questions.
He was unprepared for the way God answered.
Suddenly it was as if the miracles of the Bible had jumped off the pages and into his life and the lives of those he prayed for. Healings, visions, angels and other wonders challenged everything he thought he knew about the presence of Jesus, the Father and the Holy Spirit in the world today. And if the idea of miracles sounds strange and unbelievable to you, here's a secret: You are not alone.
Humorous, poignant and honest, Signs, Wonders and a Baptist Preacher shows that it's perfectly normal to think that God's ways are not so normal. As you travel with Chad, you will discover what happens when God shows up in your ordinary, everyday life-especially when you doubt He will.
If you are like me you grew up with a conservative background. We did what we were supposed to do and life was pretty good. There were challenges and we faced them. That's pretty much it. Chad Norris had that kind of background until he felt that there was more. So he held a healing service and a blind woman left seeing. Wow, conservative was shattered right before his eyes. It is time for a whole new way of thinking. It is time to throw conservative to the winds and invite God,not only into our lives in a fresh new manner, but into the way we operate as well as think. "Signs, Wonders and a Baptist Preacher" is the perfect tool to allow a brand new way of thinking and operating into our lives.
