Product Description

Since adolescence, Geneen Roth has gained and lost more than a thousand pounds. She has been dangerously overweight and dangerously underweight. Then one day on the verge of suicide, she did something radical: She stopped trying to fix, ended the war and began trusting her body and questioning her beliefs. In Women, Food and God she shares her journey and explores how your relationship with food is an exact mirror of your feelings about love, fear, meaning, even God. She shows how by getting to the heart of your spiritual health you can then begin to sort out your physical health and weight.

Publisher's Description

Embraced by Oprah, the #1 New York Times bestselling guide that explains the connection between eating and emotion from Geneen Roth—noted authority on mindful eating.

No matter how sophisticated or wealthy or broke or enlightened you are, how you eat tells all.

After three decades of studying, teaching, and writing about our compulsions with food, bestselling author Geneen Roth adds a powerful new dimension to her work in Women Food and God. She begins with her most basic concept: the way you eat is inseparable from your core beliefs about being alive. Your relationship with food is an exact mirror of your feelings about love, fear, anger, meaning, transformation and, yes, even God.

A timeless and seminal work, Women Food and God shows how going beyond the food and the feelings takes you deeper into realms of spirit and soul—to the bright center of your own life.

I could not recommend this book because of the offensive language and references to any "god" other than the ONE TRUE GOD. However, the mature Christian that is seeking answers to untangle food issues may find within these pages some help to begin to understand the driving force of why eating is all tied up in our spiritual life. Finding those facts, of course are ultimately truth only if God deems it true, & must be received with the Holy Spirit and discernment.

This book contains offensive language and ideas that are not consistent with Christian teachings. I would not recommend it to anyone seeking true Godly wisdom in any situation.
