Three very entertaining books
May 8, 2013
This was a great series. I was fortunate to read all three books back to back. My feeling is that although all three books is able to be read as stand alone books they where better read as a series. Especially the last book as I have to say it was my least favourite book. It was however made better with the history of Charlotte in the first 2 books. It gave a better understanding of her character as well as that of her father and his persistence that she marry Alex. My favourite book was by far book 2, "Anna Finch and the hired gun". I wish I was better with words to truly express how much I loved Anna's guts and determination. The way the author portrayed her was feisty and determined and not tacky and rude or even spoiled. The dialogue between her and Jeb were witty and exciting and kept me glued to the story. Book 1 was also very entertaining. I could truly relate to Ginny's love for adventure and her admiration of the fictional character Mae Winslow. Growing up I had the same fascination with Calamity Jane.
I am thankful to WaterBrook Multnomah sending me these books in exchange for a honest review.
