Nothing to Write Home About
Here's my take on Rejoice song by song:
01 Beautiful Redeemer
I actually found the song annoying and fast forwarded to the next...
02 So Good
Ah, not so good...
03 Forever Reign
Strange, it seems to be an "echo" song. Most phases are repeated, "You are good, You are good; You are love, You are love; You are light, You are light..." Didn't finish listening, Didn't finish listening!
04 Come As You Are
Beautiful solo voice to begin, then group joins in. Love the message in this song. "He's not made at you, He's not disappointed, His grace is greater still."
05 Hosanna
Don't really like the "feel" of this one.
06 Our God
I like the Chris Tomlin's version much better. This sounds like a church praise and worship team; nothing to write home about.
07 Glory to God
Amen, all Glory goes to God, but I really didn't like this song. On to the next....
08 You Brought the Sunshine
Too much of a "gospel" feel for me. Got a kick out of the writer's name - Elbemita "Twinkie" Clark!
09 Greatness of Our God
Worshipful. Slower paced and then picks up the pace. The words and message in this one really magnifies the Greatness of Our God. I'm on the fence on this one.
10 Great Is Thy Faithfulness
I'm a hymn lover, so I was interested to hear this one. Tastefully and beautifully done. My favorite song on the whole CD. I loved their "you've been so faithful" in between the verses.
In all honesty, I'm 2 or 3 out of 10 on this CD. I'm sure that some will love it, but if I were listening before buying, I would have passed it up.

Nice CD!
Women of Faith Worship: Rejoice is a new collection of heartfelt songs from the Women of Faith Worship Team. This CD contains some older worship songs and some newer ones. This is the song list: Beautiful Redeemer, So Good, Forever Reign, Come as You Are, Hosanna, Our God, Glory to God, You Brought the Sunshine, Greatness of Our God, and Great Is Thy Faitfulness.
This CD is a great compilation and I really enjoyed listening to it. Thanks to Thomas Nelson for providing me with a copy for review.

Songs failed to draw me into worship
Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed with WOFâÂÂs albumâÂÂRejoice. The lyrics are fine, the singers nice, the song-choice okayâÂÂthe total package is simply lacking. From first listen, I endured one song to the next hoping they would get better. I never felt impacted or drawn into worshipâÂÂwhich is the point, right?
There are 10 songs totalâÂÂa mix of new alongside popular worship songs out on radio. In my opinion, the popular songs fell flat and the instrumentation throughout was mediocre. The songs all started to sound the same. With so many powerful worship songs/albums available, this one falls short of being worth the add to my ipod or CD player.
Perhaps if I had attended the Women of Faith event I would feel differently about this album. Those who experienced the presence of the Holy Spirit moving amongst the raised hands and voices of thousands of women gathered in Jesus name may enjoy this. Being personally involved in that kind of experience WOULD make the difference!
But for me, having missed the impactful event, I never felt impacted by the music they shared together.
{Disclosure: Thomas Nelson Company provided me this Women of Faith Worship CD--Rejoice--for free for review purposes with no expectation that I would provide a positive review. The thoughts and opinions shared are entirely my own.}

Contemporary Worship Compilation
I thought I would give some contemporary music a chance. This week, this CD arrived from Thomas Nelson Publishing, Women of Faith Worship: Rejoice. It is the new Worship CD from the Women of Faith tours. There are 10 songs on the CD. 9 of the songs are contemporary worship and the last is a hymn, Great is Thy Faithfulness. If you enjoy contemporary worship as you hear on the radio, then you will enjoy this cd. If you have enjoyed past Women of Faith, then you will also likely enjoy this CD. Sadly, I did not. The music is mostly synthesized. I had hoped that it would feel more real to me, but it didn't. It left me longing to hear a piano and an acoustic guitar. I did enjoy the last song, though, which was simpler than the others in instrumentation because it was a hymn. The other songs were quite repetitive.
I do not think this CD is much different from its predecessors. If you are looking for a mix of contemporary worship songs sung by women, then you might want to take a listen to this one. It just wasn't my cup of tea.
Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this CD for review from Thomas Nelson Publishing.
