Breaking the Cycle of Physical and Emotional Abuse
December 28, 2012
So many women live with men who are filled with anger that comes out of them in explosive waves of cruel words and physical loss of control. The woman they live with walks around on egg shells hoping not to trigger the switch that turns him into a raging loonatic! This book identifies a wide range of domestic violence and how much of it stems from shame, guilt and anger. It is a short book (140 pages) that is an easy read. Very helpful for women who need to know how to build healthy relationships.
I have read this extraordinary, and powerful book. It has given me hope, and greater insight about verbal abuse. I have never read anything before about rewiring of the brain. I know without a doubt that God has poured revelation and knowledge inside of the author of this book. Any woman who is going through domestic abuse should read this. Any man that needs to break the cycle abuse needs to purchase this book to be set free.
This book gives realistic & practical help for spouses of angry men (or women) and for the person with the anger problem. It is written in a empathetic manner while still making the individual accountable for his actions. The author's willingness to share his own story tells me how sincere he is in wanting to help others. I highly recommend this book.
I read this book cover to cover in one afternoon. I know my marriage is troubled & I want help so much. This book is both spiritually led & Practical. I understand much better now what I can & cannot accomplish, especially what my husband will have to do for himself. Please read this book even if you are not being abused, because every believer needs to be ready to help someone who has or is suffering abuse. and Pray for Me . . .
My husband and I read this book together. It was extremely informative and insightful. We found this book to be unlike others we have read, in that it really deals with the roots of anger. We recommend this for every couple (whether already married or considering marriage), as there are also amazing examples of what a healthy, Godly relationship should be like. I also think any Pastor, counselor or therapist should invest in this book; it seems like it would be an invaluable companion to helping couples!
