Publisher's Description

Every woman lives by a code, whether she realizes it or not. It informs how she treats others and herself, how much she expects of herself, and how far she is willing to go in order to find success. But is the code we're living by truly helping us create the lives of purpose and fulfillment we desire? Or are we sacrificing the deeper things for mere achievement?

In this inspiring book, Sophia A. Nelson calls women to live out a powerful life code that will lead them to purposeful and successful lives. With the wisdom that comes from experience, Nelson reveals to women

· the true meaning of "having it all"
· how to take better care of their minds, bodies, and souls
· how to achieve professional excellence without compromising their values
· how to find lasting love and purpose in life beyond their accomplishments
· how to navigate the sisterhood of women, to build collaboration rather than competition
· how to heal from past hurts, rejection, and life's inevitable storms
· and much more

The Woman Code is a way of living, of navigating life's challenges, and of interacting positively with other women. It's a way of pursuing our dreams and our deepest desires. It reveals a universal and timeless set of principles of the mind, body, and spirit that help women balance the demands of work, home, family, and friendship. The Woman Code not only calls on women to practice purpose in their lives, it shows them how to do it with grace.

The interesting thing about this book starts with the cover endorsements ranging from Arianna Huffington to Serita Jakes and Sheila Walsh. How does one author bring together women from the faith based world as well as the corporate professional power world and do it all in one book that unites all women? Sophia Nelson does it in this book, brilliantly. I have read criticisms from Christian women on author sites, that are frankly not based in reality. Ms. Nelson is an unabashed Christian. She states so right in the book introduction. But what she does in this book is so powerful because she takes her faith out for a walk in the mainstream power elite girls world without batting an eye or flinching about her CODE of faith. This is not a Christian tome based on scripture. If that is what you are looking for this is not the book for you at all. This book is what we call "informed spirituality" meaning a Christian who lives in the world, works in the world but is not of the world and knows how to share her faith with a broad audience without having to hit them over the head with scriptures and Bible verses. What a breath of fresh air Nelson is. This book is in a word: TRANSFORMATIONAL. It will touch any woman who reads it for the rest of her days.

Sophia Nelson believes that everything women need to lead the lives they want is already inside there inside sort of locked away. Ms. Nelson has twenty keys to unlock all that inner potential. The book is divided into 5 sections: The Personal Codes, The Emotional Codes, The Spiritual Codes, The Professional Codes and The Relational Codes. Each section contains four of each code. At the back of the book there is a study guide to be used with a small group or individually. I think this is a great resource for all women and would be a great gift for friends and family.

    SUMMARY:

Through 20 different Codes, each with a key that can unlock that specific potential within each woman, Sophia Nelson stresses discovery. Each Code starts with a relevant quote, followed by a discussion, personal stories, explanations, suggestions, Bible references, wisdom and how to live the Code. Powerful yet peaceful, The Woman Code empowers all women to unite and stand strong while uncovering what is within

    A PENNY FOR MY THOUGHTS:

The Woman Code definitely encourages and challenges each woman to embrace yet challenge herself to be the woman she was fully meant to be. Through confidence, support and enthusiasm, Codes such as living authentically, being resilient, not gossiping, lifting others and reconnecting with your life are covered. My personal favoriteaging gracefullytruly acting your age in dress, behavior, wisdom and acceptance right where you are (as we all really do get old). Though not overly rich in scripture, Sophia Nelson does a wonderful job of leading with determination and courage, especially to those that may need those qualities (Codes) the most (which could be any woman at any time). Women can absolutely be all things, while living for God.

    RATING:

    The Woman Code

    By: Sophia A. Nelson

Sophia is showing us 20 powerful keys to unlock our lives. makes a difference in life if we are bought up knowing our life is worth something, but growing up being told you are worthless you will more likely as adult feel like you have no value. What we think of ourselves is very valuable. First Code is value. There are 19 more keys discussed in this book. Peace, Treat, Authenticity, These are personal codes. Accountability, Guard, Resilient, Age, These are Emotional codes. Gossip, Apologize, Thoughts, Cut and untie, these are the Spiritual codes. Don't think like a man, Lead, Brave, Lift up, these are the Professional codes. Know your row, Practice love, laughter and loyalty, Courageous, and Reconnect, these are the Relational codes. Each of these codes Sophia will discuss what we should do for each one. Then there is also a nice study guide at the end of the book. I really liked this book. Would even make a great ladies study group book.

    The Woman Code

    Sophia A. Nelson

This book is about finding and supporting your uniqueness while not tearing down others, and inviting others to do the same.

This alone could bring about World Peace given the positive generational impact.

There are five segments or Codes. They are:

Personal, Emotional, Spiritual, Professional and Relational.

Codes is a synonym for healthy values and this book invites us to assess what we have and what we may need.

Innate Value and Worth, Teaching Others How to Treat You, and Making Peace with Your Past, are several of the topics in the first segment.

The Authoresss focus is on these values or codes as they relate to the unique make-up of Women.

At the end of the day it is our relationships that make our lives worth living, is one of the lines from this book that is applicable to all.

Evaluating what you have Personally, Emotionally, Spiritually, Professionally and Relationally invites you to make best use of your natural gifts and cumulative opportunities.

Planning goals, short and long-term is an easy next step.

This encourages finding our own path, and supporting others to do the same.
