A 2012 Christy Award Winner. Embark upon a danger-laden mission within the pages of Ronie Kendig’s riveting Wolfsbane. Demolitions expert Danielle Roark thought escaping from a brutal Venezuelan general was a challenge. Now she’s charged with espionage and returned to the jungle where a new nightmare begins. Will Dani survive or become just another political pawn destined to be lost forever? Former Green Beret Canyon Metcalfe is disgusted with the suits on Capitol Hill. Still wrestling with the memories of a mission gone bad, he and Nightshade launch a mission to find Dani. Can Canyon rescue Dani, armed with nothing but raw courage?
Ronie Kendig is an award-winning, bestselling author who grew up an Army brat. After twenty-plus years of marriage, she and her hunky hero husband have a full life with their four children, a Maltese Menace, and a retired military working dog in Northern Virginia. Author and speaker, Ronie loves engaging readers through her Rapid-Fire Fiction. I can’t get enough of the Nightshade team and each novel proves more exciting than the last! Ronnie is fast becoming a master at delivering heart pounding fiction.
Wolfsbane caused another late night for me, but it was worth it.
Just when you think she’s packed everything into the plot, Ronie Kendig adds another layer. This book is worthy of 5+ stars. It has just the right balance of adventure, suspense, and romance.
If you only read one book this year, this is the one I recommend.
Wolfsbane is by far my favorite of the series. I stand in awe of these incredible books and the uber-talented Ronie Kendig. If there are only a few books that you add to your "to-read" list this year make sure one of them is Wolfsbane! You won't regret it. Trust me.
In a book loaded with action, great characters, and high emotion, there are some beautiful reminders of God. From His plans for an individual’s life to His amazing forgiveness, there are several gentle reminders of God’s presence in the midst of the storm.
This series has excelled in reminding the reader of many fundamental spiritual truths while providing hours of fast-paced entertainment. Most of all it has highlighted the soldiers who have left the battlefield, but are still haunted by the war. For those that can handle emotion, passion, and raw intensity, this is a fantastic series and one I highly recommend.
Two words could sum up what I think of Wolfsbane…totally awesome! As soon as I read the first few pages, I was jerked off on an edge-of-your-seat adventure that didn’t slow until it came to a very sudden—but satisfying—ending. Wow!! And after getting a glimpse at the other characters in the Nightshade group, I want to get the first two books in this series, Nightshade and Digitalis, to catch up on the stories of Canyon’s teammates, Max and Colton. If you haven’t been able to guess yet, Wolfsbane has earned a permanent place on my favorite’s bookshelf. :-)
This is Ronie Kendig at her best with action, intrigue, romance and excitement on every page. I simply could not put the book down.
christiangirl4evr1 Stars Out Of 5WolfsbaneDecember 30, 2014christiangirl4evrQuality: 1Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1I had high expectations for this book ( 3rd in the series) after reading the second book in this series. I was extremely disappointed! Not only was the premise the same - boy meets girl, boy falls in love with girl, girl goes on mission with him, boy has to protect girl - but it was actually boring. I did not like 3 things about this book. 1. God was not integrated through the whole story. There were occasional references to Him, but He was not a part of the storyline. 2. It was very unrealistic in that while on the mission, Canyon and Dani are separated and are running for their lives. After the enemy catching up to them twice, WHY would you stop at a town you come to and get a hotel room???? You get supplies and keep moving. No, they got a hotel room where they had sex. No, no, no! And after that, a lot of the book kept both of them thinking about what happened. 3. Dani's character was developed to be a strong person after all she endured at the hands of Bruzon, yet near the end, she still continued to accept gifts and attention from the brother she did not love, after telling Canyon that she loved him. So not the character of the woman. In essence, I was extremely disappointed...

What could be worse than falling for the girl your brother wants? Determined not to make the same mistake twice, Canyon struggles to stay away from Roarke. Yet Roarke find that she much prefers Canyon over his little brother. Add in some Venezuelan terrorists determined to kill Roarke and build nuclear weapons. Then see how the Nightshade team handles the pressure and the drama of Canyon battling against his feelings for Roarke. The result is explosive action and a great book that you cannot put down.

Having escaped a brutal Venezuelan general, demolitions expert Danielle Roark fights her way back to the States, only to be charged with espionage. When she's forced to return to the jungle to prove her innocence, she finds herself intentionally left behind. What secret does she have worth killing for? Haunted, former Green Beret Canyon Metcalfe is fighting off nightmares of a operation gone bad. When he's thrown back into the jungle on a Nightshade mission, he must push the memories aside to rescue Dani. Will he lose another woman to the cruelty of warfare?
I was immediately drawn into this story. The characters were believable and the story was well written. I enjoyed the Metcalfe family and the believability of the difficult nature of the events that Danielle had gone through there were parts that were challenging to follow until about ½ way through the story and this mad following the action a hindrance at times. I thought that the similarities of experience between the main characters were played subtle until they were resolved. It was a great nail biting story that was worth following until the end.
I would like to thank Net Galley and Barbour Publishing for allowing me to read and review this book in return for a free copy and was never asked to write a favorable review by anyone.

Phew, what a great read! What an action, suspense, adrenaline filled read!
Everytime I read another book by Ronie Kendig I'm convinced it was her best yet.
Canyon Metcalfe is a guy I could easily love. Maybe because he's a bit like my husband. :) None of his problems are related to my husband, but the way he handles things is alike, so that tells a lot about Ronie's excellent imagination!
Danielle Roark was captured, tormented and raped in Venezuela. She escaped with shocking proof that the cruel general that kept her for six months has nuclear weapons, but at home the American government doesn't believe her. She has to go back to that awful place to come up with more proof.
Canyon's brother rescued Danielle out of the ocean when she escaped Venezuela. He falls in love with Dani, but she's not interested in men... until she meets Canyon. Canyon likes her too, but because of a promise he made to his brother he can't pursue her. Things get complicated when Nightshade is the team that escort Danielle back to Venezuela. Can Canyon live up to that promise?
Is Nightshade capable to find the proof and keep Danielle save?
This book is so fast paced that you hardly have time to take a calming breath before the next action.
Action, adventure, military, suspense and romance lovers - this book is for you!
CattAge: 45-54Gender: female1 Stars Out Of 5Wrong MarketingDecember 21, 2011CattAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 1Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1This is a secular book with a very light dusting of worldly Christianity. I was hoping for solid Christian characters in a realistic plot where Jesus is center stage in the extreme trials our military, their families, and civilian counterparts face. NOT. The evil presented did not disturb me. But the flipant role of God in the lives of every character did.
