Although condensed, still a great inspiration!
Although this condensed booklet (64 pages) lacks many stories of the version (Life Without Limits: Inspiration for a Ridiculously Good LifeâÂÂ288 pages) readers will still benefit from a great message.
At 29 years old, Australian born Nick Vujicic is a world-wide motivational speaker, urging millions of listeners âÂÂto overcome adversity with faith, hope, love, and courage so that they may pursue their dreams.â For a young man to speak passionately on âÂÂovercoming adversity,â and hold the attention of audiences, heâÂÂd better understand what adversity means.
Vujicic can well define the term. Born without arms and legs, he has a lifetime of confronting challenges with the help of supportive parents. As the author states, âÂÂThey held on to the conviction that my life would have no limits, and they fought to keep that dream alive.âÂÂ
One early memory is his mother saying, âÂÂâÂÂNicholas you need to play with normal children because you are normal. You just have a few bits and pieces missing, thatâÂÂs allâÂÂâ¦setting the tone for years to come.âÂÂ
But the bookâÂÂs purpose is not simply to tell his storyâÂÂVujicicâÂÂs book is upfront with his goal âÂÂto encourage you to overcome your own challenges and hardships so you can find your own purpose and pathway to a great life.â He cautions âÂÂto do that well, though, you need to have hope.âÂÂ
He personifies hope as âÂÂthe voice of your purpose,â reassuring that âÂÂwhatever happens to you doesnâÂÂt live within youâ and states, âÂÂOnly God knows how our lives will unfold.â In his travels, the author has personally witnessed how âÂÂgreat calamitiesâ¦always trigger incredible caring from other human beingsâ and that âÂÂHope appears even in the worst of times to give us proof of GODâÂÂs presence.âÂÂ
As tragedies pass, and reporters move to other topics, too often we forget stories of courage and triumph. Nick reminds us of the 2010 Haitian earthquake and one story that emerged: Marie and her son Emmanuel. Searching emergency camps and rubble when her son disappeared, Marie clung to hope. Ah, but to know the conclusion of that story and more of VujicicâÂÂs inspiring message, I recommend reading the book.
