"Camden takes readers on a breathless ride..."--RT Book Reviews

In the shadow of the nation's capital, Kate Livingston's respectable life as a government worker is disrupted by an encounter with the insufferable Trevor McDonough, the one man she'd hoped never to see again. A Harvard-trained physician, Trevor never showed the tiniest flicker of interest in Kate, and business is the only reason he has sought her out now.

Despite her misgivings, Kate agrees to Trevor's risky proposal to join him in his work to find a cure for tuberculosis. As Kate begins to unlock the mysteries of Trevor's past, his hidden depths fascinate her. However, a shadowy enemy lies in wait and Trevor's closely guarded secrets are darker than she ever suspected.

As revelations from the past threaten to destroy their careers, their dreams, and even their lives, Trevor and Kate find themselves in a painfully impossible situation. With everything to lose, they must find the strength to trust that hope and love can prevail over all.

With Every Breath is an excellent book. It contains the right amount of history, information and romance to keep you reading. I enjoyed reading the early history of medicine. The two primary characters, Trevor and Kate, have worked together in the past and are now working together again. There is just the right amount of mystery, romance, arguments and making up to keep the book interesting. I look forward to continue to read this author's work.

I received this book from the Book Club Network in exchange for my honest opinion.

Interesting readThis historical fiction book takes us back into

the medical system in late 1800s. The story takes place at the

Washington Memorial Hospital. A physician is researching

trying to find a cure for the disease entity of tuberculosis. It

gives us the knowledge behind how early research was

accomplished in this time period where no cure had been

founded. It gave accounts of how people lived after contracting

the disease that was fatal in this time period. You will be taken

back by the lack of medical treatment available in that age

compared to our present medical system. The caregivers in

this storys time period had to overcome the grief when losing a

patient in their research study as well as the grief in the patients

family. It is a gripping story which had its very sad moments

but also a ray of sunshine from the positive experiences of the

    characters.

I felt the story also showed how people jump to conclusion

about other people without any real knowledge of circumstances.

What may seem like a person of privilege acting stand offish

might be due to other situations beyond their control. People are

quick to make assumptions and form opinions but not as quick

to correct their assumptions when they find out why people

    behave as they do.

Her characters were artfully drawn and very dynamic in their

relationship within the story. Her vivid characters are

Surrounded by plenty of mystery, drama, unpredictable plots,

romance and historical facts. The story moves fast and contains

a lot of harsh reality. The story contains a mixture of humor,

personal and family value during that era. With Every Breathe

is a celebration of life and in trusting God to lead our way.

Thank you to book fun.org for this Book. My opinion is my own.

While I love a good novel, I struggle to find a well-written, clean, and intriguing novel. Of the seventy-nine books I read last year, only four were novels.

What can I say? After youve read classics like To Kill a Mockingbird and L.M. Montgomerys Anne books, its hard to read bland fiction.

Elizabeth Camdens With Every Breath is certainly not bland or boring.

Set in 1891 Washington D.C., Kate Livingston is a lively, brilliant, redheaded statistician. When she receives a mysterious request to interview for a job at Washington Memorial Hospital, Kate is launched on a journey filled with past rivalries, death threats, and medical research on one of the most deadly diseases of the time.

As Kate struggles to come to grips with her faith and the brevity of life, she is confronted with her lack of faith, the finitude of humanity, and the Sovereignty of God (Proverbs 3:5, Psalm 103:15-16, Proverbs 16:9).

Overall, With Every Breath is a wonderful and fascinating novel that I will be reading again, and would highly recommend. I would give With Every Breath an A.

This was my first read by Elizabeth Camden but I will definitely be pulling her other novels out of to be read pile. This author has a way with words and her writing is so elegant it brought the scenes to life for me. As an added bonus, her books always have some of the most beautiful covers!

Kate Livingston had always dreamed of going to college but her hopes were shattered when her high school rival Trevor McDonough won the scholarship award instead. Now she has a respectable government job as a statistician where her ability with numbers could really shine if her insufferable boss didnt discourage anyone trying to better their position. When Trevor shows up out of the blue with a job offer studying Tuberculosis, Kate leaps at the chance although it will mean working closely with the man who shattered her dreams. Can they learn to trust and forgive each other?

I truly enjoyed every inch of this story. It was interesting learning more about Tuberculosis and seeing how Trevor threw himself into his work with disregard for his own health in order to help others. I loved Kate as well. She was a smart and deeply caring individual who grew a lot as a character. I would recommend this book to historical fans and cant wait to read more from this author!
