Pam and her husband Bill, write a column on relationships and are frequent guests on shows like Focus on the Family.

Dawn Wilson, founder of Heart Choices Ministries, encourages women to make proactive choices that build lives of excellence to glorify God. She is a freelance writer, researcher and teacher.

Pam Farrel and Dawn Wilson have created a fresh, fun devotional book for women, "LOL with God: devotional messages of hope & humor for women."Each devotional has a text message that will remind us of God's love and care or be an encouragement to us. Each devotional is short with additional scripture to go along with the message that is shared. A feature I really like is the extra space at the end of each devotional for your reflection and own text.I recommend this for women who feel that they are short on time but would love devotionals that deliver a lot in a small amount.*Tyndale House Publishers provided me with a free copy of this book. I had the chance to review this devotional book for women, LOL with God: Devotional Messages of Hope & Humor for Women. It's a light-hearted book for one to enjoy if you need a good laugh and just to feel revived and refreshed. I did feel that even though I text here and there, I am not into all of the lingo that's currently out there. To me, it is a little irritating. LOL There are a collection of personal stories in this book and text message Bible verses throughout to encourage women in their walk with the Lord. You can 'send up a msg to the Lord, there are 'text helps', an LOL area and a place to write your text msg to God about your life, what you read, or a request that's on your heart. This book is not my personal fav for devotions for women. They aren't deep and serious really and I do like most of my devotions being that way for the most part.Tyndale House Publishers has provided me with a complimentary copy of this book. Would B so gr8 2 take a vacay w/ a gf asap...right? LOL (Laugh Out Loud)For most women, it would be so great to take a vacation with a girlfriend as soon a possible and the sentence reflects the common everyday use of abbreviated "texter" lingo. Women are constantly texting or tweeting or "facebooking" as part of their personal and professional daily routines. Balancing careers, marriages, children, home, activities, and (now) social media have created a very plugged in and busy schedule for women. Trying to find time to sit still and quietly read is like trying to find a needle in a haystack--mission impossible. The desire to find some quiet time during the day is something that I strive for. Even unplugged time has to be scheduled in a busy day.
