After reading Autumn Song several months ago, I was thrilled with the opportunity to review Martha Rogers' Winter Promise. Abigail joins her brother and friend in Texas with a plan to open a library for the town. Men and marriage are the furthest things from her mind, but she soon finds herself torn between two men.
Winter Promise was just as good as I hoped it would be. I was instantly transported back to the late 1800s and the town of Portersville, Texas. Ms. Rogers did a wonderful job of picking up the stories of characters from previous books in the series while also focusing on new characters. Although part of a series, the book can certainly stand alone if you haven't read the previous books.
I thought Abigail was a fantastic leading lady. I instantly connected with her, plus she's a librarian. What's not to like?! To be totally honest, I didn't like Dr. Elliott as much as I wanted to, but by the time secrets from his past were revealed, I understood him a lot better.
Anyone who loves historical fiction will appreciate the captivating stories in this series. I look forward to the conclusion later this year! [4 stars]

Warms the heart!
In Winter Promise, third book in the Seasons of the Heart series, Martha Rogers has brought us back to the flourishing town of Porterfield, Texas. I was excited to see this third installment and find out what happens with Elliot. He seemed so lost and solitary that I was sure there was no way he was going to be transformed into a suitable hero. Not to worry, Abigail is on the scene! She's come to open a library but I do believe she will be opening more than that :)
There's just the right blend of tension, excitement and romance to make this an enjoyable read, just in time for Valentine's Day! I'm looking forward to Cory's story this spring.
Cover love is happening here, too. Abigail is wearing two of my favorite colors; chocolate and blue. I love the dreamy look on her face while gazing out into the snow. I know none of that has anything to do with the writing but I couldn't help myself!

Finding Love
Abigail Monroe has traveled to Porterfield, Texas to begin her new life. She is following her brother Daniel and his wife Kate where they have settled. With her inheritance from her Grandfather she is setting up a new Library in this town. She is so excited about it, and the town looks forward to its happening.
When she arrives she has not intention of becoming involved with anyone to lead to marriage, but she finds herself attracted to two men. Cory Muldoon, Kate's brother, and a local lawman, the other is the new town Doctor Elliot Jensen. Cory, does not think he will ever marry, being a lawman he doesn't want a wife to worry all the time. Elliot has his own demons, he lost his wife to be in a tragic accident, and blames himself and God.
A the story progress you will wonder which or either of them Abigail will end up with. Also how God interacts in their lives is wonderful! This is also the third book in this series, and you don't have to of read the others to enjoy this one.
A great quick read. Enjoy!
