Marshéle Carter Waddell is married to LCDR Mark Waddell, US Navy SEAL, who for 7 years served as an enlisted sailor and since 1989 has served as a commissioned officer. A passionate supporter of his service to the country, she has also experienced the exhausting toll of frequent and lengthy deployments that are common to most military families. Having left a career in journalism, marketing, and public relations, Marshéles highest calling and passions have been her marriage, her family, and writing. Together, she and her family have served the US around the world. Since she self-published Hope for the Home Front in 2003, her book has been featured in international, national, and local television interviews including CBNs 700 Club, Canadas 100 Huntley Street, and the Klove radio and Internet network. She has been a speaker to womens audiences from Pennsylvania to South Korea. Marshéle is founder of One Hope Ministries, found at www.hopeforthehomefront.com. She makes her home in Monument, Colorado, with the Waddells three children, where she writes, speaks, and continues to support her husbands work for the country.
Hope for the Home Front explores the emotional and spiritual battlegrounds common in the experience of today's military wife. Waddell ministers to those who are entrenched at home in the battle for their marriages, their children, their faith, and their sanity, which are all caught in the crossfire. Seeking to arm military wives with the power and protection of God's promises against depression, bitterness, destructive choices, and desperation, she uses both humor and honesty to present timely truths. Topics include facing fear, anger, burnout, temptation, and separation from loved ones.
