Wings of Promise, Alaskan Skies Series #2
Wings of Promise
I received the first book in this series on my Kindle. I had never read Bonnie Leon's books previously. After reading that one I was hooked. Since then I have bought Wings of Promise and intend to buy more of her books. Kate is a bush pilot and this is the 2nd book in the series but you can read it first. There are several personal interest stories that catch you up on characters from her previous Alaskan Sky Series. There is action, danger, learning to rely on God and His word. This book is set in the 30's during the depression. The characters are warm, cozy friends. Her co-pilot is her dog Angel. I highly recommend Bonnie's books if you are looking for a good read, with love, danger, romance and the author's faith shines. Got to go, the bookstore called & the next book in the series is here. Just finished another book and ready to start her next one. Have a great read & God bless.

Wonderful story on all levels.
Kate Evans is a pilot, and not just any pilotâÂÂsheâÂÂs a bush pilot in Alaska in the 1930âÂÂs. The pages of Wings of Promise are filled with the challenges she faces. The elements threaten, as do some of the male pilots who work for the same flying service that employs Kate.
On the emotional front, KateâÂÂs heart is also in danger. Dr. Paul Anderson agrees to be a bush doctor, and he and Kate spend time together both in the air and on the ground. But who is Paul Anderson, really? If a man refuses to discuss his background, is he hiding something sinister? This dilemma chews at Kate as she fights her attraction to the handsome physician.
Fortunately Kate has Mike Conlin in her life, a fellow pilot who understands her love of flying. As their friendship deepens, Kate feels sheâÂÂs found the perfect mateâÂÂuntil the unexpected happens.
Leon brings Alaska and its dangers to vibrant life in Wings of Promise. This story kept me awake turning pages late at night. I guarantee it will have the same effect on you.

Female bush pilot in 1930s Alaska
Kate Evansâ Alaskan adventures continue in the second book of Bonnie LeonâÂÂs Alaskan Skies series. She faces numerous challenges with the beautiful but dangerous environment and her complex personal life. Her affection is still torn between Dr. Paul Anderson, whom she flies to remote areas, and fellow pilot Mike Conlin, a great friend.
The author allows readers to view remote areas of Alaska as they fly with Kate. Compounding troubles cause Kate to doubt her ability and place as a pilot, where death could be one flight away. Should she call it quits and escape back to her parentsâ apple orchard in WashingtonâÂÂs Yakima Valley? Will she ever find the man of her dreams?
KateâÂÂs aviator skills continue to be tested as she braves hazardous weather to rescue hunters who went missing during a blizzard. In a way, this journey parallels her own lifeâÂÂsheâÂÂs lost in a swirl of emotions and desires, searching for the right direction. Will she find her way or die trying?
I enjoyed the frontier drama, vicariously experiencing something IâÂÂd never dare to do myself. Plus the historical setting (late 1930s) reminds me of my parentsâ growing up years, so itâÂÂs fun to read stories set in that time period. Join Kate on this wild ride exploring the arctic wilderness and the longings of her heart.
