However, the book is weighed down by lengthy descriptions of clothing, and a plot that wanders. Issues of importance are brought up (such as a possible family secret of which Copper is unaware, but others know) and are then never resolved. Or problems are brought up and resolved too easily, such as the strained relationship between Copper and her sister-in-law. The book does handle delicate issues like pregnancy and childbirth very skillfully, conveying the emotion and stress without being graphic. For those who like historical romance, Willow Springs is entertaining, but certainly not the potential classic it could be. Jessica Becker, Christian Book Previews.com
Tammy5 Stars Out Of 5March 21, 2008TammyI found my first Jan Watson book on a discount table. The cover really drew me in so I read the back cover. Now I am hooked! I just finished the Willow Springs book and can't wait to read the next one. I can really imagine myself in the story and somehow "being there". I am looking forward to other Jan Watson books in the future!
Jeanie Jarvis5 Stars Out Of 5November 23, 2007Jeanie JarvisIt is not often the sequel surpasses the greatness of the first novel but Jan Watson has achieved just that. This book is a winner in every aspect of the word. It will grab your heart as she takes you through a whirlwind of emotion. I just couldn't put it down and dreaded for it to end. If you only read one book this is the one! Wonderful!
MEKA4 Stars Out Of 5June 4, 2007MEKAI enjoyed the book but wasn't as blown away by this second book of this series as I was by Book One!I thought the depth of the characters in Book One was exceptional - rather comparative with Francine Rivers in surprising ways! Book Two did not give me that same appreciation. While being a good read, it was less compelling than I was expected! I will look forward to Book Three should there be one and I'll approach it with open mind, hoping it will touch me as deeply as Book One! I was a tad disappointed in Book Two! I love the covers though, again particularly Book One's! No, you can't know a book by it's cover, however, the cover is what first attracts me!
rkfreakkid5 Stars Out Of 5April 10, 2007rkfreakkidI loved this book even more than the first in the series. The characters in Willow Springs were so well drawn out that I missed them when I finished the book! Looking forward to reading what comes next in Copper's life!
