I was very disappointed with this product. My goal was to lead a men's bible study on Sunday evenings that would call men to be real men... Godly men. I believe the book does a good job at doing this, however, the video is extremely weak in its ability to do so. To my surprise, the men in the video sit around and "talk about their feelings" just like women talking in a coffee shop. I think I could listen to them better if the men in the video were manly and gruff. The problem is that the guys in the video seem effeminate. At my request, my wife previewed this video and found the men repulsive. Sorry, but southern boys won't go for that sort of thing and will wash their hands of it. I'll have to look elsewhere for a men's study to meet that need. I am tolerant and can look around things if it meets the need, but after watching the video, I realized that I would have an empty class after the first meeting were I to have pursued the study.
To make matters worse, CBD would not take the kit back after realizing I couldn't use it. They have a strict policy (understandibly) with opened products of this nature. VERY, VERY DISSAPPOINTED!

Very good Bible study for a man or for men's groups. Especially enjoyed "A Battle to Fight" and "An Adventure to Live", as they both had personal meaning to me - very helpful with facing my past and coming to grips with it. Highly recommended for study. Blessings, Jim Murphy, Cheyenne, WY

This is a very good kit. It includes everything you need to do a great study on this book.

Cute but not solid. There is really nothing ground breaking in this study. It has enjoyed a lot of hype but I failed to see why. It's focus is on the individual more than it is on individual's relationship with God. Eldredge misses the point when he talks about God giving a man his strength to rescue the beauty. I thought that God gave us our strength so we "may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God..." (Colossians 1:10). If you are looking for a cute study that uses the Bible this is for you. If you want a Bible study that is solid you may want to search elsewhere.

This is a professionally done series that expands well on the material in the book. I have been a facilitator for two different groups of men so far. I have seen it make a definite and profound impact. John Eldredge personally leads a "Band of Brothers" through each topic and we're brought into the discussion. The scripting and production seems loose enough so that what is said and shared by each man is genuine. These are not actors but are actually John's partners in ministry at Ransomed Heart.

WOW. This material is an eight week/session course like none other. The first week alone excites you to its potential.
I haven't seen it all the way through yet, we have some weeks to go, but ... WOW ... Even if it goes a bit downhill from here, this is at least a 4.0. If what I've seen continues like this, a definite 5!
