AllenDayton, OhioAge: 25-34Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5Simple Is Not Always Shallow!!!!!December 3, 2014AllenDayton, OhioAge: 25-34Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5If I had to suggest one commentary that is anchored to the Word but geared to the times this would be the one. First, I don't agree with all of Wiersbe's conclusions (he is a dispensationalist and I am not) however, Warren is committed and constrained to the subject of the Bible even when you may disagree with some of the topics. For example, Warren asserts concerning eschatology "I have moved from being on the Lord's planning committee to focusing on being on His welcoming committee". This type of honest interaction with the text and the reader allows one to disagree charitably on a topic but be in full agreement with the subject.
Secondly, this commentary will not only inform your head but it will inflame your heart!!! This is not a book full of distilled truth but it is a book as Martyn Lloyd Jones would say is filled with "Logic On Fire"!!!!
The only setback is the print is smaller but unreadable. I wholeheartedly endorsed this book!!! Wiersbe balances getting the message right and getting the message across!!

Judith Wickenhiser5 Stars Out Of 5January 29, 2010Judith WickenhiserI have purchased Wiersbe study guides in the past for Bible studies. This is a wonderful resource with the complete OT in one book. I also purchased the NT in one book. A handy and economical way to have this wonderful resource. If you like Wiersbe's teaching, you can't go wrong.
Joan Hobbs5 Stars Out Of 5January 14, 2010Joan HobbsI trust Wiersbe because of his reputation. I am a common believer who desires a deeper understanding of God's word. Though I have just begun to use this commentary in a Bible study, I already appreciate Wiersbe's insights. Plus, it is written so that even I can understand what is being said. I trust that I will gain deeper understanding of scripture in following God's Word with this commentary.
Q: Is the Wiersbe OT hardcover commentary abridged from the Be serie ss?
Yes, this commentary is abridged from Warren Wiersbe's "BE" series.
