Why Great Men Fall contains 15 chapters highlighting different struggles common to most men. Issues such as Compartmentalization, Sex, Integrity, Stress, Money, or Ethics. While I was excited to receive the book and jumped right in to reading it I have to admit I was deeply disappointed in itâÂÂs content. For starters, it didnâÂÂt contain anything new and I found the writing less interesting to follow than many other menâÂÂs books I have read in the past. There are other authors I would point men to (Patrick Morley and John Eldredge come to mind off the top of my head) before giving them this book. ItâÂÂs not that the book didnâÂÂt contain good content, because it does, but the content has been written before by other authors, authors whom I prefer to read (given the choice).
On top of that, the physical structure of the book was distracting. I know we shouldnâÂÂt âÂÂjudge a book by its coverâÂÂ, and IâÂÂm not doing that. What IâÂÂm talking about are small margins and what feels like a larger page than most books â it gave the impression that stuff was crammed in to save money, which made me ask the question, âÂÂIs it really that important to read after all?âÂÂ
Again, content was fine, just not overly insightful. IâÂÂll give it 1.5 out of 5 stars.

As a public school principal, I've read and studied many books and papers about leadership. This is one of the best practical books for leaders I've read. Men in leadership are subject to being in the cross-hairs of the enemy daily. This book takes the bullets out of the enemy's gun.

Goodall here has the courage to tackle a subject that has been overlooked or unmentioned in Christian books today -- the pitfalls of male Christian leadership. The author directly addresses 15 key areas to which leaders should give attention. From my knowledge and experience of ministry, his words are extremely relevant.I recommend this book very highly to all male Christian leaders, especially pastors. Being aware of our weaknesses and points of vulnerability is the first step towards safeguarding our integrity. This title is an excellent investment and addition to one's library.
