I Doing Here?) helps children understand what it means to be fearfully and
wonderfully made in the image of the Most High God. This study will enable
students to develop a healthy self-image based on these biblical truths: God
made me in His image and crowned me with glory; He has given me special gifts
and a unique purpose in life; I can creatively express God's love; I am meant to
think about beautiful and praiseworthy things, especially God and His Word; I
must make decisions based on God's truth; I can always know the wise thing to
do; I must cultivate the fruit of the Spirit in my life; I am a beloved child of God
whose true identity is found in Christ.
These books are great for parents to use with their children at home. At a time when Christian teachings are subject to increasing hostility, children must learn early what they believe, why they believe it, and how to boldly defend those beliefs.
The What We Believe series helps parents and their children ask the important questions-and answers those questions with uncompromising biblical truth.
A wonderful tool to help Christian parents keep family discipleship front and center. This is one curriculum in a class by itself.
Author of The Ultimate Guide to Homeschooling
A fantastic and much-needed resource for parents to help kids build a biblical worldview. I'm looking forward to taking my own kids through these valuable lessons.
Excellent, Bible-rich worldview curriculum.
A great Bible curriculum for the entire family . . . one our family will use over and over again.

MomOnTheGo5 Stars Out Of 5Very In Depth Bible Study for Elementary StudentSeptember 1, 2015MomOnTheGoQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I have to say this is one of the most in-depth Bible studies I have ever come across for elementary students. Due to the extensive content, my second grader gets a little lost if we do too much at one time. I have found the junior notebook to be a valuable addition to this book, and we use the lesson plans in the junior notebook, so that it is broken down into reasonable amounts of reading and work for my second grader. It's not for the faint of heart or for a quick Bible lesson! This study really dives into the Bible with great illustrated stories and examples for the kids to relate to. A little overwhelming for us, but I had to give it 5 stars for the amazing content and quality!
Patty5 Stars Out Of 5Who Am I? What We Believe, Volume 2August 8, 2015PattyQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I cannot stress enough how wonderful and how important this book is. The reason I homeschool my children is to give them a Christian worldview, and out of all the books I have used in nine years of teaching, this is by far my favorite. We can't wait to start our next in the series!

My daughter is hands on and loves to "dig in" to this curriculum. We bought the CD to go along with he studies so she could follow along in a quiet place and reflect upon what is being taught. The stories are so interesting and she'll come and tell me all she's learned that day. Thank you for putting together such a great curriculum! P.S. when she's finished with this book is there another?

Tell us a little about yourself. I am a father of six children, all of whom have been taught at home. Though I currently work as a freelance writer and editor, and I have more than a dozen years' experience in Christian publishing at the management level.
What was your motivation behind this project? The project was born out of a crying need among homeschooling families for a quality curriculum to help them instruct elementary-level and junior high children in a biblical worldview as well as the beliefs of the Christian faith. Our publisher, Apologia, has partnered with Summit Ministries to produce this series of beautiful, full-color textbooks. Who Am I? (And What Am I Doing Here?) is the second book in the series.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? John and I hope that these books will change the way children and their families look at the world each day. In a world of competing ideas, these books are designed to help children learn to discern the truth by using Gods Word as a lens through which to view the world around them -- to see everything the way God sees it. We pray that these books will bring the world, its Creator, and His amazing love into clearer focus for parents and their children, helping them to build a biblical self-image and an unshakable faith to last a lifetime.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? I have been tremendously blessed by the project, which has required me to approach God anew with a childlike faith. It's not easy to describe His wonders and beauty and mysteries using only a fifth-grade vocabulary, but we did our best. Now it's in the hands of the Holy Spirit to use as He sees fit.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? I hesitate to mention the names of friends and colleagues for fear of omitting someone. However, among contemporary authors, I am particularly fond of the works of Kathleen Norris, Mark Buchanan, and Jan Karon. Jack Hayford has been a huge influence on my life.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: Our publisher, Apologia, is well known for its customer support, and this product will prove no exception. Parents and teachers who will be using these books as curriculum will have free access to extensive teaching helps posted on the Apologia website.
