Endorsements

"Whiter Than Snow is music for the sinner's soul. In fifty-two personal, creative, and sometimes poetic devotionals, Paul Tripp responds to Psalm 51 the way a jazz musician improvises on a familiar tune. In making this sweet music, Dr. Tripp makes King David's confession our own, helping us get honest about our sin and opening our hearts to the mercy of Jesus." —Philip Graham Ryken, Senior Minister, Tenth Presbyterian Church

Publisher Description

You've fallen into sin again, and your heart and your mind threaten to further deceive you. Where do you go in that moment? Psalm 51 is the story of a man named David who, when faced with the realization of his sin, boldly drew near to God. If your sin prompts you to wonder, "Is grace really as powerful as the Bible says it is? Is sin really as dangerous as it is made out to be?" or "Can we really start over?" then Psalm 51 and Paul Tripp's corresponding book of meditations is for you.

Whiter Than Snow unpacks this powerful little psalm in fifty-two meditations, reminding readers that there is mercy for every wrong and grace for every new beginning. Through these meditations on David's words in Psalm 51, readers will see their sin in light of their salvation, enabling them to replace condemnation with hope for change. For though David's story is one of moral failure, personal awareness, and grief, it is also one of confession, repentance, commitment, and hope. And because David's story is every believer's story, Psalm 51 is every believer's psalm. Whiter Than Snow reminds readers that we, as broken sinners, can be brutally honest with God and yet stand before him without fear. Designed for busy believers, Tripp's brief and engaging meditations are made practical by the reflection questions that conclude each chapter.
