Tell us a little about yourself. I am a pastor's wife, mother and director of women's ministry whose aim is to help women find "strength for the soul." I speak across the country on intimacy with God and have authored several books including "When Women Walk Alone" (more than 100,000 copies sold), "When God Pursues a Woman's Heart," "When You're Running on Empty", "Woman a Woman Discovers Her Dream" and "Letting God Meet Your Emotional Needs."
What was your motivation behind this project? After receiving numerous letters and emails from readers of "When Women Walk Alone" through the years, I realized it was time for a follow-up devotional book with all new material that would encourage the heart of a woman on a daily basis.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I hope women will carry this purse-sized book with them and pull it out whenever they need a reminder that God's heart is with them, He has a plan for their lives and whatever they're dealing with is nothing that takes Him by surprise. I'm especially encouraged to hear so many readers say "that devotional was exactly what I needed to hear on that particular day"!
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? I was thrilled to include some stories from readers of "When Women Walk Alone" and to lay my heart on the page and share with readers how I, personally, have been comforted and blessed in the midst of feeling like I walk alone.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? Authors who have particularly impacted my life and influenced my writing are: A.W. Tozer, Oswald Chambers, Elisabeth Elliot, Elizabeth George, Cynthia Heald, Richard Foster and Henry Blackaby.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: By having a daily reminder of God's love and purposes for their life, women can stay focused on the fact that they were created to love God and enjoy Him forever.
