A GREAT BOOK THAT WILL TEACH YOU A LOT ABOUT LIFE . April 18, 2012

I appreciated King's review of this book, which was donated to our church library. As church librarian, I needed to decide if it was sound theologically and appropriate for the library. At first glance, it looked very good . The book has many wise and compassionate moments. But the chapter "God Can't Do Everything" appears to have some very misleading rationalizations regarding faith and prayer. September 4, 2008

This book has nothing to do with Christianity or a Biblical / Christian worldview. The author states in this book that God is not ALL-POWERFUL and that God Can Not stop bad things from happening to people or innocent people.He says that people need to forgive God when bad things happen, as it is not Gods fault that these bad things are happening as God cannot do anything about these bad situations or circumstances anyways as He is not all-powerful... The author also states that people need to forgive God for making such an unfair and dangerous world.The author says he finds a rewriting or a different ending to the book of Job more appropriate. In this rewritten version of Job, God does not bless them with more children and possessions etc in the end of the book - but Job and his wife forgive God and blow on the coals of their hearts Blow on the coals of their hearts means that Job and his wifes love and love for each other will carry them through these tragedies and allow them to have and live meaningful lives I purchased this book in hopes of giving it to an inquiring unbelieving friend thank you God that I read it first! This not a book I would recommend to anyone! October 5, 2005
