Ellen5 Stars Out Of 5Great New Series by VeggieTales CreatorSeptember 3, 2014EllenQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Here are my new friends, Clive and Ian, Sunday School Lady, Pirate Pete, and more, about to take me on a tour of the greatest book of all timethe Bible. Phil Vischer, creator of VeggieTales, is behind all these puppets and writes almost all the songs. His new series must have been a labor of love, when I consider what must have gone into it. In two 25-minute episodes, Vischer explains what is a Bible, who wrote the Bible, and many more questions. It also explains what books are in the Bible, what Genesis means, andin a remarkable cartoon sequencecreates one of the best explanations of the fall I have ever seen, to the sound of Chuckwagon the cowboy puppet singing. Little black furry balls with teeth representing sin, stick to people like miserable little backpacks; clever, and also a good analysis of the material. What Vischer does best, I think, is to use humor and color and fun, yet in no way to decrease the seriousness or sometimes difficulty of the story. This is a general introduction to the whole series, plus a basic overview of Genesis and its first eleven chapters. Genesis continues in Volume 2. For all ages. I bought the entire series and plan to review them all.

Babette Stevens5 Stars Out Of 5Every Home in America should own this seriesJuly 11, 2013Babette StevensQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Phil Vischer was born to do this series, I can not wait for it's completion - I use the church curriculum in my Sunday school class, and I give out as many of these videos as I can afford. Phil presents the simple story of the Bible - HIS (God's) story. Our selfishness creating a broken world and God's rescue plan.
Every Christian home in America should have these videos that give a simple but clear message of "What's in the Bible". Help stamp out Bible illiteracy in "Christian" homes! You can not share and live what you do not know.
Susan Vanecek1 Stars Out Of 5Christians beware! Truth in bible gets compromisedApril 23, 2013Susan VanecekQuality: 1Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1First of all, my 4 year old told me after the first viewing that he didn't like it. He has very good discernment what spiritual things are concerned. I didn't take the time to watch all of it before he did but my husband just pointed out to me that they are teaching in this DVD what "various Christians" believe. Well, honestly, I have to be harsh and say "I don't care what all kinds of Christians believe" about creation, what I do care about is that you teach our children what the bible says and stop getting into evolution and all kinds of human believes. When the bible states that God created the earth in 6 days and on the 7th day he rested, then say so and teach that truth from the bible to our kids and don't include all sorts of beliefs from various groups. What do we have the bible for as the infallible word of God if you throw in all sorts of other theories? Just stick to what God has already written down for us in His word. I am not going to buy any more of this series as I cannot trust that the author had in mind to teach our children the truths from the bible. If he is comprising the bible, then this is not good enough for my children to watch and be brainwashed with. I am sending this back and I am deeply disappointed with the author of this series.
Q: Is there a curriculum to go with the DVD's? Is it sold as a set with DVD's and curiculum? If CBD sells it what is the item number? Thanks.
