pbcook5 Stars Out Of 5Not your Typical Marriage ManualAugust 31, 2014pbcookQuality: 4Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This is not the typical marriage book. Tripp spends a large portion of the book discussing specific examples of what happens when couples do not spend the time necessary to make sure a marriage will not fail. As he says a good marriage is a good marriage because the people in that marriage work to make it good. Combining two sinners together will result in problems if they are not diligent to deal with these issues proactively instead of waiting until it is too late. Grace is the key ingredient and without it, a marriage will inevitably be more difficult.
It is an easy book to read. There are dozens of instructive and practical stories and examples that keep the reader moving through the book. Every person reading it will be able to identify with some of the stories as they are reminded of similar occurrences in their own life and marriage. It was enjoyable to read and very beneficial as the author expounded on the realities of marriage in detail. Overall, this book is rooted firmly in Scripture and I highly recommend it to be read by all people who seek a better understanding of the realities of marriage.
