We're Not Blended...We're Pureed
A GREAT âÂÂBLENDâ OF FUN AND WISDOM!!
IâÂÂm sorry, but a self-help book shouldnâÂÂt be so fun, you know, especially when it deals with such an important subject as blended families.
BUT ⦠âÂÂfunâ describes WeâÂÂre Not Blended, WeâÂÂre Pureed (A SurvivorâÂÂs Guide to Blended Families) to a âÂÂTâ for âÂÂTerrificâ because this book will not only engage, inspire and educate the reader, but it will make them smile as well. Diana Brandmeyer has a gentle wit that comes through in every one of her life vignettes, and co-author Marty C. Lintvedt gives a thought-provoking and professional analysis of each that makes this book a must-read, not only for blended families everywhere, but for anyone related to or friends of blended families. In fact, I highly recommend this excellent guide for anyone even contemplating a marriage that results in a blended family as well as parents everywhere for the sheer fun and wisdom of this excellent book.

We're Not Blended, We're Pureed
It seems like blended families are becoming more and more common these days and with blended families, there can be problems. I suppose you could say that I have a blended family. My husband was widowed with a daughter who is grown and I had never been married before and had no children. Our little family didnâÂÂt have to face the same dilemmas as other blended families because my stepdaughter is grown and on her own and I didnâÂÂt bring any kids into the marriage, but there have been some obstacles along the way.
Even for someone like me, this book came in handy. Not all of it applied to our situation, but the parts that did were very useful. Blended families with young children all being brought together will find this book invaluable. It is loaded with practical and biblical wisdom that so many families need these days. Diana Lesire Brandmeyer and Marty Lintvedt are speaking from experience in this book, not just personal experience, but also professional experience. Both of those things come together to create a book that can really help families cope with being blended, and the humor throughout this book makes it an entertaining book to boot. If you are part of a blended family or are about to be, pick up a copy of WeâÂÂre Not Blended, WeâÂÂre Pureed. It will definitely be a big help with making the transition and beyond.

Wonderful, Helpful Book
Diana Lesire Brandmeyer and Marty C. Lintvedt do a masterful job of weaving together Diana's person tales from her life in a blended family with Marty's professional advice as a counselor. The stories are humorous, touching, and true to life. You feel like you're sitting at Diana's kitchen table as she shares her triumphs as woes as a parent. Marty's advice is great - even if you're not part of a blended family. The section on keeping your marriage fresh was very helpful to me and I also appreciated Diana's frank discussion of dealing with a strong-willed child. There are many take-aways in this book for not only blended families, but also adoptive families in their own unique "blended" situation, and for all families in general as there is great parenting and marriage advice.
The publisher provided me with a copy of this wonderful book free of charge for review purposes. I only review books I like.

A must read for blended families
This book addresses a huge need out there for the growing number of blended families that find out it's not quite as easy as the Brady Bunch made it look and wonder how to navigate the minefield of problems blended families must face. Diana's practical experience, combined with co-writer Marty's professional experience, makes this book the perfect blend of ideas, wisdom, comfort, and hope for blended families.
