What a great book! IMO, Mark Hall has defined key areas where Christians often stumble. Mark lovingly points us to the right path. He has the gift for making the scriptures come to life. It is evident throughout the book. I was moved greatly; I laughed and I was inspired. I liked it so much that I wanted the book to continue.

Personal, Practical, & Biblical
The Well: Why Are So Many Still Thirsty is written by Mark Hall, Pastor and Lead Singer of Casting Crowns with Tim Luke. In this book Mark explores the story of the Samaritan woman at the well found in John 4. Using the story of the woman at the well; Mark explores how pursuing approval, control, religion, talent, and entitlement leave people empty and longing for more that only Jesus Christ can provide. Throughout the book, Mark rightly points the reader to Christ who alone can satisfy the longings of the human heart.
This is a well-written book on a topic that needs to be taught on more. Often times, Christians treat Christianity like another thing they âÂÂget to doâ rather than a daily drinking from the living water from the Well of GodâÂÂs love. By this I mean; often times believers walk through the motions, and never experience God out of the abundance of their knowing Him. As the story of the woman at the well demonstrates God meets us where we are at in order to transforms our entire lives by setting us on the paths of righteous living for Him.
Through the use of personal stories from his own life, practical suggestions and exploration of Jesus encounter with the woman at the well; Mark helps his readers diagnose the idols of their hearts and points them to Jesus Christ. I recommend you pick up The Well by Mark Hall to learn from a man who has drunk deeply the fount of the Well of Life in Jesus Christ. Reading this book in my opinion will help you to diagnose the various ways in which you have found satisfaction outside of Jesus Christ, and stir your affections afresh to be satisfied in and by Him alone.
