Product Description

The red warning light on her car dashboard drove Lainie Davis to seek help in the tiny town of Last Chance, New Mexico. But as she encounters the people who make Last Chance their home, it's her heart that is flashing bright red warning lights. These people are entirely too nice, too accommodating, and too interested in her personal life for Lainie's comfort-especially since she's on the run and hoping to slip away unnoticed.

Yet in spite of herself, Lainie finds that she is increasingly drawn in to the dramas of small town life. An old church lady who always has room for a stranger. A handsome bartender with a secret life. A single mom running her diner and worrying over her teenage son. Could Lainie actually make a life in this little hick town? Or will the past catch up to her even here in the middle of nowhere?

This book is so good. It's about family and friends in a small town. The way they reach out to "complete strangers" is how the town I grew up in was.

Lanie is very likable with a sketchy past that chases her throughout the story. All the characters in the book are very hard workers, perhaps illustrating small-town life. All the people and elements of this story intertwined, but didn't feel forced at all. I especially liked Ray, the male character. His background was deep and his dream was huge. The location of his cabin was vivid, I wished I could have spent more time there!

I really enjoyed "Welcome to Last Chance". I found myself not wanting to stop reading it at times. The only thing that I wish there was more of was at the ending. More of the, what I call, the "happy ever after". When it came to the end, that was it..... The epilogue was not enough. There are 3 books to this series and I was hopping they would link more of it together. I am now up to the 3 book. Hope it has more.
