Imagine planning a fairytale wedding with a nearly limitless budget. . .but for someone else. Now imagine being stranded at the event hotel with a massive hurricane barreling down on you, a motley crew of tourists, and your estranged husband. Will wedding planner Summer Nelson be able to weather the storm alongside her stubborn husband? Or will this new crisis tear them apart forever?
Annalisa Daughety, a graduate of Freed-Hardeman University, writes contemporary fiction set in historic locations. Annalisa lives in Arkansas with two spoiled dogs and is hard at work on her next book. She loves to connect with her readers through social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. More information about Annalisa can be found at her website, www.annalisadaughety.com.
Barbour Publishers has released a few really impressive starts to this destination series. Stories that feature mature relationships and broken people who come through the fire are some of my favorites. Daughety deftly paints a portrait of what I imagine any real-life couple could face. The struggles, the doubts, the anger and most importantly faith are represented in a way that anyone can relate to whether you are married or not. While this was a bit more on the serious side it is still a story about the joy of true love and there’s a wedding, a cute kid and a dog. I enjoyed every minute of it and look forward to more other novels from this author. If you’re a fan of the South and weddings this is definitely a book you want to remember to add to your wish list.
Joanna4 Stars Out Of 5Good, but not what I expectedAugust 17, 2014JoannaQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 1After reading the product description (same as the back cover copy), I expected something totally different than what I got. The back cover makes it sound like the book is all about the main character planning a wedding then getting caught in a hurricane. In fact, those things don't even come up until the last few chapters of the book. The whole book is about the couple's marriage problems and how they finally learn some valuable lessons and come to a resolution. I think it's a good book, but it's not what it sounds like from the given description. There's not any humor in it, it's pretty serious. But if you or someone you know are going through some marriage challenges, I think there's a lot of solid take-away there, in a well done fiction format.
GCCanadaAge: 18-24Gender: Female5 Stars Out Of 5Easy breezy but VERY enjoyable! I liked it!September 1, 2012GCCanadaAge: 18-24Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Summer Nelson has always liked things to be controlled and in order. Everything else seems to be that way in her life, except her marriage.. which leaves her frustrated and confused. Add to that an (annoying) ex-lover who unexpectedly shows up and a friend who's determined to start out a new life for herself after a horrible divorce. And you have two (yes 2!) love stories that will stay with you long after you've turn the last page.
This was my first read by Annalisa Daughtery and I liked it!
What a gorgeous cover! Very beautiful colours who are joined together really nicely; As are also the characters inside this book. Yes the story is quite predictable but I finished this in less than 24 hours, so for me it was quite engaging and sometimes hard to put down.
This is a touching story, that will pull some emotions of you. Readers will ache for Summer and Luke because of all they went through, and will cheer on Ashley and Justin as they learn to take a step with faith.
I would really recommend it if you're looking for a smooth read!

I have enjoyed all of Annalisa Daughety's books, and this one tops the list of my favorites! The story was interesting and had its fair share of drama without being over-the-top. The story flowed well because the characters were easy to relate to.
The entire time I was reading, I felt like I could work for Summer Nelson's wedding planning business or be her best friend because she was so real, with real-life problems that women have either experienced themselves or cried with a friend while she experienced them.
I felt like I was watching a movie because I wanted to yell at my "screen" to tell Summer and Luke what to do to fix things, but Daughety effortlessly weaved their struggles together into a story that everyone will love.
