I read to edify/ bring me closer to the chacter of God and/or to escape for a while and in the process I want to experience joy or challange. This book did neither. It was a story that never really became better; although written well. I fully know this is life for some. I did not want this type of tragedy to fill in my sparce "free time." I read it and tossed it into the garbage can.
I really liked this book. The arthur knew just how to capture a readers interest and touch hearts...I could just see this happening in any neighborhood and to any child. It kept me laughing, crying and I loved the praise it gives to God.
"Watching the Tree Limbs" was a captivating story both heartwrenching and triumphant. I was under the weather one weekend, I picked up this book and had it read within 10 hours; I just couldn't put it down! Written from the point of view of a 9 year old girl who is wise beyond her years in many ways and terribly naive and vulnerable in other ways. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.
