Publisher's Description

Warrior for Revival is a riveting account of how the Lord Jesus touched the life of a young
man, Philip Mantofa, delivered him from the depths of violence and depression, and used
him mightily as a chosen vessel of revival in Indonesia and Asia. While Pastor Philip was
still in his twenties, a divine firebrand sparked city-wide revivals which were noted for
creating immediate and enduring impact, particularly among young people. More than
100,000 people experienced salvation while scores of youths were equipped and
commissioned to pioneer thriving local churches. Such a transforming anointing and
influence can only arise from a life deeply rooted in Scripture and an intimate fellowship
with the Holy Spirit. Warrior for Revival is evidence that God is able to raise young people
to become standard-bearers even for the older generation.

Author Bio

Philip Mantofa graduated in theology from Columbia Bible
College, British Columbia, Canada. Since 1998, he has been

Mawar Sharon denomination, which has a network of 70 local
churches. Since his youth, he has brought more than 100,000
souls to Christ. His passion is to ignite the fire within the
younger generation to become pastors and spiritual leaders
all around Asia. Moreover, he has a burning desire to see
nations experience and encounter the love of Jesus Christ.
He is happily married to Irene Saphira with three lovely
children, Vanessa, Jeremy, and Warren.

I just finished this book the other day. I first heard of Philip Mantofa when I saw him in Darren Wilson's movie "Furious Love" and in reading Wilson's book "Filming God: A Journey from Skepticism to Faith." My dad bought a copy of "Warrior for Revival" and passed it on to me. It is a moving and inspiring testimony of how God is powerfully using one man's completely surrendered life. What's particularly inspiring is that this isn't limited to Philip Mantofa; if you and I completely surrender ourselves to God, He also desires to use us powerfully for His glory! He may not plan for us to pastor a church of 100,000 people, but let's not underestimate our Heavenly Father! His ways are higher than our ways.

The beginning of the book tells you up front that each chapter starts with Sianne writing about Philip, giving some background information on his life, childhood, etc. The second half of each chapter is written from Philip's first-person perspective, sharing insights and life lessons. Even though I knew this, it still took me a few chapters to get used to the rhythm of it. But it didn't detract from the material within.

Philip has a great love relationship with Christ, and he also has an equally great heart to disciple and train others in their faith --- not to become like himself, but to become the person God desires for each individual. I am blessed by his openness and willingness to share everything about himself for the benefit of others. He is the first to say that he is nothing; he only desires God's glory and for each of us to live in the power of His Spirit.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It challenges me to allow God to stretch my faith to greater limits, expect greater things than I do, and to trust in the love of a faithful Father.

Philip Mantofa and Ribkah M. H. (Sianne) have collaborated in this stirring story of the life and principles of the ministry of Philip Mantofa. Delivered from a life of violence, depression, and demon possession, Mantofa has been used of God in city wide revivals in Indonesia and Asia.

Mantofa's goal is to challenge a new generation of youth with these life principles, to help them discover their personal identity, so that they can experience an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. Philip uses examples of God's chosen leaders from the Bible to illustrate and develop the principles that he has discovered and practices in his personal spiritual journey.

Sianne's narrative on Philip's life story is engaging, providing important background information that reinforces the life principles presented by Mantofa. Thrilling testimonies and detailed interviews relate experiences of salvation, of being miraculously healed, and of other miracles. These stories offer exciting evidence of God at work through the life of this young warrior for revival and add credibility to the transformation in Philip's life and the consistency of his dedication, humility, and prayer life.

"Warrior for Revival" proclaims a positive message of the transforming power of the Holy Spirit in the life of one fully surrendered to God's will as well as the potential of the younger generation to change the world for Christ.
