This is my Pastor! He's an awesome, compassionate and transparent guy. If you get a chance, come by Menlo Park Presbyterian Church in Menlo Park, CA and hear John speak. We would love to see you! We did this as a Study for our Home Group. Great work! John Ortberg is a blessing!

Excellent book! Illustrations on every page to bring home the message. John Ortberg writes in a very engaging style that makes reading a joy. A must have to motivate your Christian walk to the next level.

I was looking for a text for our adult Sunday School class and was intrigued by this title. Wow! Was I impressed by the writing. I also logged on to the Menlo Park Presbyterian Church website (where Ortberg is now serving) and watched him delivering several sermons. This man has it together! I can't wait to start this with the class. And I'm definitely rethinking what my boat is and how I can step out of it in faith.

I read this book at the same time, my wife and I were praying about setting out and starting our own local community ministry for the poor. To be honest with you, we were scared to death to do it, we were afraid of the potential failure that could happen. When I read this book, it gave us a new perspective and the encouragement to get out of the boat and to take a step out on to the water. It helped to prepare us for what would happen when we did step out.If you are considering a change in ministry, or considering entering into the ministry, or taking a major step in your life or your walk with Christ then read this book. You will not regret it.

This book really got me moving out of my comfort zone. After reading it I let my brother borrow it and bought another copy for a friend of mine. I would recommend this book to everyone no matter where you are in your walk with God.
