I teach an adult Sunday School class and we picked up several new people just because of this study.
All of us can identify with "desert times" in our lives. The DVD lessons and workbook both teach and challenge us to react to these times in a more Biblical manner.
We do each lesson in two segments. The first week we watch the DVD and have some discussion of what we gleaned from it. The next week we get more into the workbook Q & A and have a lot of open discussion. There is much ministry that takes place during this segment.
I have found this series to be one of the best in Ray's series. It has definitely ministered to our class on a very personal level.
I have used this product and shard it with a university student. The content and subject matter is very relevant to any Christians walk with the Lord in these difficult days of testing and waiting and growing in HIM
I ALSO HAVE USED IT IN OUR ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS AND the students comment have been very positive.
I appreciated Ray Vander Laan's personal journey and his testimony of God's grace and presence in his deserts. I will never look at the 40 year wilderness journey, Psalm 1, or 23 the same again. This is the first time (in the 12 volumn series) that we have ordered many books to supplement the study.
The multiple applications make me think of J V McGee and G C Morgan's commentaries.
In this, the last installment in the "That the World May Know" series, Ray has the readers / participants more involved looking at themselves... looking at the deserts in their lives. Still has lots of the insights and new information that we love from Ray, but looking more inward than before. A challenging series!
