I had previously purchased a paperback NT in this version and have enjoyed it so much I wanted the whole Bible. I plan to read it through next year, cover to cover. It's easy to read and I didn't find it too much of an issue to understand why Jesus Christ is the Anointed One in this translation, or God, Eternal One". It is very well explained in the introduction section.

This Bible has a lighter leather cover. It isn't as heavy as many leather Bibles I've purchased in the past. It also doesn't look as "severe" as some because the leather is not as "grainy." I purchased the black leather.

I passed it on to our worship leader after reviewing it for about two weeks. This Bible uses scholars who know Bible languages with a group of people who are artistic. The wording has the feel of Eugene Peterson's The Message Bible, but is a translation by a team of scholars and not the work of only one person.

The Bible adds italics to any place where wording was added to make the meaning the original readers would have known by living in the culture clearer. This is similar to the New American Standard Bible which also adds italics to words not in the original Greek.

It also has small paragraphs throughout the Bible that are clearly marked as such with commentary and background information to further explain the Scriptures.

I plan on purchasing another copy for myself in the future.
