The lessons are well laid out and the roots are pertinent to every day words. I was expecting something antiquated, but this is really a fantastic step after a regular spelling program. My daughter is enjoying it as well and recognizing roots in much of her reading.

This is an easy curriculum for learning root words. And not a lot of planning on the parents part. We are currently using Book 6 and are loving it. My children {and myself} are gaining a greater understanding to the English language as well as the other languages that helped to form it.

An basic understanding of Greek and Latin before the high school years should make biology a bit easier for my kids. It will also help them on the SAT. I am pleasantly surprised; they really enjoy learning these new words.

Excellent book! Very well organized and easy to follow. My son says English makes more sense and spelling is easier now that he knows the roots.

Frank Smith once said, "One language sets you in a corridor for life. Two languages open every door along the way." Norma Fifer and Nancy Flowers series Vocabulary from the Classical Roots is designed to introduce students to languages of Greek and Latin. In the words of the authors, "Vocabulary from the Classical Roots encourages you to look at words as members of families in the way astronomers see stars as part of constellations.
