Author/Artist Review

Tell us a little about yourself.  God called me to be a writer when I was 9 1/2. I think of that when I look into the eyes of children and teens because I recognize their potential and want God's very best for them.

What was your motivation behind this project?  Whenever I'm praying about a new project, and the entire time I'm developing it, I seek God for his leading. When I knew he was asking me to write about Vikings I wondered why. Then, as I researched, I learned that when Vikings came to raid they came in contact with Christianity. When enough of them became Christians, the raids stopped, and daring sailors such as Leif Erikson (a Christian) made world-changing discoveries. I also wondered how I could make this series a family story, and the Lord showed me how. In one way after another he helped me develop my characters into people I love. I'm glad that you love them too.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  I want children and teens and all the adults who enjoy reading along with them to know one thing: If we ask God to help us in whatever we face he will give us the courage to win.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  My husband, Roy, is an exceedingly strong influence in my life. A teacher and also a counselor for kids who have been through the courts, he cares deeply about the well-being and the success of those he has helped. Our children, their spouses, and our grandchildren are also great sources of fun and inspiration.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  I like putting cliff-hangers at the end of every chapter because I want you to love reading. I'm glad that you do. Thank you for your letters and e-mails telling me how this series has helped you. As my husband and I pray for our children and grandchildren every day we also pray for you. Thanks for telling us that God has answered our prayers by helping you grow spiritually. Thank you for depending on him to give you courage in your daily life and the hard times you face.
