Hollywood has become our cultures dominant storyteller. So turn Hollywood to your own purposes. With Videos That Teach you can use clips from 75 of the best recent movies on video--already collected an organized by topic and Bible reference, complete with start and stop times--to illustrate your lessons and launch provocative discussion among your students. Discussions that get kids talking about themselves and life, about God and the Bible. Browse the book to find the movie clip you like, or use one of the Quick Clip Locators (by topic or Bible reference) to quickly find the perfect reinforcement for your lesson. Or build your entire lesson from a clip--with each clip are summaries of the movie and the clip, start and stop times, Bible references, and discussion-starting questions. And given the breadth of movies in Videos That Teach, youre almost guaranteed to find what you want for a topic to teach or a discussion to lead--Forrest Gump, The Spitfire Grill, Michael, City Slickers, Romeo and Juliet (1996), Grand Canyon, Mrs. Doubtfire, Naked Gun, Fried Green Tomatoes, Mr. Hollands Opus. And lots more. Whether youre a youth worker, Bible study or small-group leader, or Sunday school teacher, with Videos That Teach youll get your students thinking biblically instead of merely absorbing passively.

Ricki Lee Brooks5 Stars Out Of 5March 7, 2001Ricki Lee BrooksThis is a great product. It has helped us immensely in providing a multi-media, rock-n-roll format to our teen outreach night. The large selection of movie clips is cross referenced by subjects. A desciption "setting the stage" for each clip is included. The length of each clip and how far into the movie (by hour and mintes) is also included. Invaluable.
Q: Is this product a book only with references or does it include a VCR or DVD of the actual movie clips as well?
This is a book only. It is designed to be a tool that makes it easy to use movie clips as illustrations. You can use it for an already existing study or you can build a study around the movie clips. If you don't already own a particular title you would like to use, you can find most of the movies referenced at a local library, or perhaps borrow from someone in your congregation.
