Tell us a little about yourself. Jennifer Devlin is an international speaker, writer, and ministry leader who is passionate about sharing Jesus with the nations. Whether on a mission trip where she is prayer walking through the desert, or leading a retreat in the mountains of South America, Jennifer's heart is set on loving others with the love of Christ. As a Bible study teacher and writer, her main goal is to get the reader into the Word of God - reading, learning, understanding and implementing godly concepts that are relevant to her daily life.
What was your motivation behind this project? My motivation behind this project is to get readers past a "sound byte" kind of understanding of familiar passages. Through a six week, five day study format, small groups will better understand foundational concepts in our faith, and grasp how to implement these truths into their daily lives and interactions.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? Digging into Scripture, and looking into the details of creation, the Ten Commandments, Psalm 23, Leaning on God's Wisdom, and other truths, this guide is a must for all women's ministries. It will change the way your participants think about Scripture!
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? Every time we take a look at Scripture, and study it in a fresh way, God reveals His heart to us once again. I grew in my understanding of these verses, and God has given me a stronger passion to help others desire to know God through His Word.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? As a Bible teacher, the obvious answer is the Bible itself. It is sufficient for all teaching and learning (2 Timothy 3:16-17). I use a lot of commentaries by MacArthur and many others. Leading women's ministry has given me a great appreciation for Beth Moore, Kay Arthur, and Priscilla Shirer, among many others. I also have used a great deal of the AMG Following God studies.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: I have also written the twelve week study, "Life Principles for Christ-like Living" with AMG Publishers (2006). Please take a look at my website for more information - Ministryforlife dot com.
