Product DescriptionAs a stay at home mom, Jenn Doucette enjoys the smallest excuse to get away from her beloved duties, even for an hour. She calls it "running away from home to find my marbles." Just about the time she threatens to superglue her kids' shoes to their perpetually sockless feet, she gets booted out of the house to find her marbles-maybe to meet a friend for coffee, or browse at her favorite bookstore, or find restoration at a church retreat. Whether you're a mom of toddlers or teens, you can probably identify. If you need a little change of pace, some comforting conversation, a sympathetic shoulder for a tear or two, and lots of laughter to lighten your load, you'll find it all within the covers of this book.

Product ReviewsProduct Q&AOther Customers Also PurchasedAuthor/Artist ReviewAuthor: Jenn Doucette
Located in: Snohomish, WA Submitted: July 16, 2005 Tell us a little about yourself. I am a stay-at-home mother of three children, a cat, 9 chickens, and (temporarily) a turtle. I love reading, writing, gardening, chick flicks, and retail therapy. In my spare time (ahem), I enjoy playing the guitar and hanging out with my best friend -- my husband, Ben. What was your motivation behind this project? I realized how God worked in my children's lives in spite of my frailties and mistakes; I also experienced His conforting presence in the midst of toddler trench moments aplenty. I truly just want to share my own hurts, hopes, and hilarity with other mothers out there. What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I hope other mothers out there will be encouraged and will see the importance of motherhood, in spite of the difficulties and (ack) frustrations. I also hope they'll get a giggle or two! Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? Jan Karon, C.S. Lewis, Francine Rivers, Liz Curtis Higgs, J.R.R. Tolkein, Jane Austen, Dee Henderson, Oswald Chambers, Michael Card. Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: Be encouraged, ladies; The Joy of the Lord is your strength!
