Product Description

Looking for an effective leadership style? Go to the ultimate authority: Jesus Christ! In this thought-provoking volume, Rinehart reminds believers that God's standard for successful leadership hasn't changed over the last 2,000 years: "Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be the slave of all." If you're ready to take your leadership to a new level by following Jesus' footsteps, Upside Down will challenge you to equip and liberate others to fulfill God's purposes for them in the world.

In "Upside Down," Dr. Rinehart shows that many churches are rooted in a traditional authoritarian leadership model closely akin to that of the modern business world. Dr. Rinehart eloquently contrasts that to the Biblical New Testament model of authority that Jesus displayed, one of service. Though this book is intended as a pastoral resource, I've shared it with pastors and lay persons alike. Some have purchased quantities to share with other pastors and friends. However, many others find this book very challenging! I recommend this book to both pastors and laity with open minds and hearts.

This is an incredibly thought provoking book which illustrates how often worldy leadership models infiltrate church/ministry settings. It is a great read, especially for those in leadership positions.
