5 Stars Out Of 5
October 23, 2014
I've seen lots of arguments online utilizing ancient art as evidence for dinosaur and man coexistence, but very few are convincing. I figured that if there were actually other, convincing evidences, I would have come across them already.
Not so. This book not only covered the evidences I knew about in greater depth, it provided many more pieces of evidence I had never seen before.
Fantastic book, and I've already used it to erase any doubts from the skeptical mind of a friend who first greeted my claim that men and dinosaurs coexisted with enormous incredulity.
To be honest, I only rate this book 4.5 out of 5 stars because of a tiny problem I have with it, but since it's so great otherwise, I've rounded up. The problem I have is that the artwork on the cover is misleading. The reconstruction of the creature depicted is far more speculative than the author lets on. For example, there is no evidence the horns curved up, or that there were that many spikes on Dracorex as displayed on the cover.
What is odd is that in the back of the book, there is another reconstruction of Dracorex that is actually faithful to the fossil evidence, but is still worthy of being described as a dragon. I believe it is this reconstruction which should have been used on the cover, or at least accompanied the section on Dracorex inside the book.
I think that would have been more honest. But otherwise, fantastic book, and it's well worth the money.
I received this gift as an early Christmas present, and I have to say it's a five-star gift! First, the book is a beautiful hardcover, smyth sewn, incorporating high-quality paper with high- resolution, full-color images and eye-popping detail on every page. The attractive cover and layout screams for readers to dive in and explore! Second, it's simply fun to read! In addition to the years of travel and research that went into the making of this book, the author shares his personal journey and passion for writing, and presents the facts in a way that is clear and compelling (my 13 year-old can read and understand most of it). The book would be a splendid addition to any coffee table, family room, doctor's office or library. I showed it to a colleague whose son loves anything dinosaur and he's now on the hunt for a copy. Third, I feel this book answers a lot of questions about dragon legends and dinosaurs but also raises a lot of questions. Having it in your hands and being able to show it to others also seems to lend more credibility to the discussion as a whole. In short, a worthwhile investment and a beautiful addition to any home, school or library.
Please be advised that this book is a very thorough and well done book written by a creationist. The above "warning" is absolutely false. I have read through and enjoyed this book many times. The pictures and text are very interesting and the detail the author has invested is evident throughout this treasure. Many of my friends with children enjoy reading through this book as it is one of the most accurate representations of dinosaur and human coexistence since the time of the flood. I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in dinosaurs from a biblical creationist standpoint.
