In the beginning, I really liked this book; by its completion, I respectfully loved this book. Respected because, what could have been a very predictable story morphed into something entirely different. The raw emotion and realism exhibited by the two main characters was very refreshing and took me completely by surprise.
Kate Darby and Nick Sheridan have much in common; they love and have loved the "high life"; living for accolades, recognition and shallow happiness. When Nick Sheridan's life is completely transformed by his conversion experience; he becomes much more comfortable with "simple", quiet, and unassuming; vowing to give up dating relationships for a year while he gets used to his new life as a believer. However, when Nick literally rescues the beautiful, confusing Kate Darby off the side of a mountain, he begins running a marathon in patience.
Kate Darby is at a crossroads. Talented, determined and emotionally fragile, Kate is at odds with the life she thought she wanted to live. Just when she thinks that she could be happy running her grandmother's small local newspaper, Kate is offered the chance of a lifetime as an advertisement executive. Actually she is offered two chances of a lifetime and it takes a multitude of prayers, a grandmother's journal, and a beautiful, scarred condor to help her make the right decision.
Kate Darby thinks she has a fulfilling career, creating advertising campaigns. One day, while on her way to her grandmother's house in the mountains, she meets a large condor in the middle of the road. The road is wet and slippery and doesn't have any guard rails. Kate goes down the mountainside with her car.
Nick Sheridan is driving on is motorcycle and sees Kate's accident. He rescues her from inside her car before it falls off the 200-foot cliff.
When Kate meets nick, chemistry flows between them. Nick used to live on the wild side, but now is a new Christian. He has made a vow to not date for six months.
Kate likes the glamour and notoriety found in her job. But she realizes her job and Nick's don't mesh together. She also believes the cannot have a future together, unless she comes to know Jesus. She has fallen for Nick, so it's time to make a few important life-changing decisions.
I loved how this book tied faith into the lives of Nick and Kate. It revealed decisions we face today and how much easier it is when you have faith.

Kate Darby and Nick Sheridan are total opposites. She career driven. He's been there and it's lost its appeal. Kate doesn't like to take chances or risks. While Nick loves the adrenaline rush he gets from pushing the limits in various activities - including his Harley. The one thing Nick and Kate both seem to agree on is there is no time for romance in their lives.
But when a near accident with one of California's rare condors leaves Kate in a dangerous situation, she and Nick are about to find out that our plans are not necessarily God's plans. But the big question is can they see what God has in store for them? Or will they let their own plans and the plans of those around them take precedent in their lives?
This is a book you won't mind sharing with your friends over a cup of coffee or tea. You'll be left guessing until the very end how it will all end, so it just may keep you up all night.

Until I Found You was a great book! I enjoyed the passion shown in each of the character's personalities. There is definite chemistry between Nick and Kate. I enjoyed how the author weaved their faith into their everyday lives making it very realistic and true to life. The trials faced by each are the ones that are faced by each of us at one time or another. I will enjoy continuing to read this author's work.

UNTIL I FOUND YOU is a contemporary romance novel by Victoria Bylin that resonates with a wonderful spiritual message: the importance of our need to rely on God and not ourselves as we traverse the modern day complexities of life and love. The story opens with a nail-biting scene as handsome travel writer Nick Sheridan meets the lovely marketing genius Kate Darby after she nearly collides with a rare Condor bird on a rainy mountainside in Southern California. Nicks attraction to Kate is immediate; but having abandoned a fast-track lifestyle that held consequences, hes made a vow to God not to date for a yeara promise that tests his faith after he rescues this beautiful damsel in distress. Kate has returned to Meadow to take care of her grandmother, Leona, whos had a stroke; but with her prestigious L.A. career simmering on the back burner, she has no plans to make her stay in the small town permanent. While shes there, Kate is drawn to Nick Sheridan, but she doesnt understand the vow hes taken about dating or about his newfound Christian faith. This is classic romance at its best, as the pair struggles to find common ground and question each other's heart. Add to that memorable faith characters like Leona and Nicks brother, Sam, and you've got a story that's a poignant reminder the road to love isnt always easy, but trusting in God can pave the way to a deeper, more lasting bond.
