Unpretty combines a unique blend of action and uneasiness to it's reader.

When out heroine, Hummingbird Collins is the only witness to a bombing of a art gallery, she finds herself in the center of the a cults attention. This cult known as the Michelangelus Movement, and it's leader who is only know as 26, has set out on a mission to rid the world of all the "unpretty" things. This leader also has a fixation on Michaelangelo's painting called Last Judgement. While reading this book I looked this painting up in a art book and studied it for a while. It's definitely a painting that makes a person think about Heaven and Hell so in that way I could get a better understanding about number 26.

I also got a sense that maybe when they were done getting rid of all the unpretty "things" they might just start on trying to get rid of all the unpretty "people" which just brings another level of eeriness to the whole thing.

Our hero Detective Buck Barnes and Hummingbird were ok as characters, I just never really connected with them the way that I can do with other characters in other books.

The thing I remember best about this book was that while reading this book on several occasions I felt my skin crawl which just is great writing.

The ending seemed to suggest that there could be other books, but I haven't seen any signs of a sequel. Either way the ending was good.

I read this book quickly and it kept my interest. It kept my on the edge of my seat. There were several unexpected plot twists. It was left open for a sequel.

I have never heard of Sharon C. Rogers untill I decided to review her book. Al I had to go on was what the back of the book said and it sounded like something I would not mind reading. I am so glad that I picked up this book because then I would not have known about this author or how good she could write.

Unpretty is a great suspense novel the revolves around Hummingbird Collins who witnessed a bombing and the madman sends her letters and threatens her. Once she decides to speak up and let a dectective, her brother and a friend help things get a bit more complicated. The madman doesn't like being disobeyed so he kidnaps Hummingbird, so can her those looking for her find her before she becomes the madman's latest work of art.It was a great story, the only thing I thought was wrong with it was the last part during the last few chapters seem to draw out a little bit, but other than that it was a great read.
