Unit Study Daily Plan Book
Perfect for me
I looked long and hard to find a simple home school planner that would meet all my needs. I love this one.
I don't do Unit Studies but I still think this planner is the best for my needs. I combine the elements of Thomas Jefferson Education with the language approach in Brave Writer, experiments from Supercharged Science. This planner gives me lots of room to write down my planned copy work, a place for spelling words I want to note from her writing and reading, a place to write the books I want to use, videos, anything extra, and space to plan all those experiments (materials to gather etc)
It has many, many spaces for you to use as you need. For instance, there's a space called Timeline Characters that is a perfect size for me to write her weekly TJ goals. I may also use that to note special characters we are studying in history to remind myself to talk about them outside of lesson time, and to find movies about them.
There's a wonderful checkoff box with 6 lines horizontally, and the days of the week across the top. I use that to check of our little daily dictation drills, math practice facts, listing a country to find on her coloring map each day, things like that.
There is plenty of room on the actual subject boxes, although there are only 4 subjects. I just split one of those in two when I have extra subjects, and I use the fourth box to list all the MISC subjects, or extra things we ended up learning about that day.
The big ACTIVITIES section has tons of room. I write out my made up dictation sentences, my Wait,Wait That's Wrong ideas for sentences she can correct, the 5 spelling words I want for the day, copy work ideas, and of course any actual outside ACTIVITIES!
Love this book. I will use this every year. The only thing I'd change is the size of the spiral binding. It is a little small so when I fold the planner over it gets kind of tangled. I read that on another review before I bought it, and I do think it would be helpful if the designer used just a slightly bigger spiral binding so we can fold iit over with ease.
Great planner for unschoolers, unit study people, Thomas Jefferson Education fans, anyone who likes to add a lot of little extras on the fly. I am down to my final homeschooler, but I do think you could use this for multiple children, a little less room for detail on each child, but there is so much flexibility that you could make it work.
If you have a LOT of kids, this one might get crowded unless you are actually doing Unit Studies, which is what it was designed to accommodate.
Thank you for this planner. What a huge help it has been in my first year trying TJ education.

6 subject weekly planner with extras!
This is a six subject weekly planner. I use it for teaching, I like to write down the books and media used on each weekly page. I use the top right column for spelling lists, I use the weekly calendar for field trips. This has so many great features!

I really like this planner. It is really easy to use along with the unit study curriculum that I use. The only trouble I have had with mine is the spiral binding is a bit too snug making it a little difficult to turn the pages further into the book.
