God gave us emotions to experience life, not destroy it! Lysa TerKeurst admits that she, like most women, has had experiences where others bump into her happy and she comes emotionally unglued. We stuff, we explode, or we react somewhere in between. What do we do with these raw emotions? Is it really possible to make emotions work for us instead of against us? Yes, and in her usual inspiring and practical way, Lysa will show you how. Filled with gut-honest personal examples and biblical teaching, Unglued will equip you to: Know with confidence how to resolve conflict in your important relationships. Find peace in your most difficult relationships as you learn to be honest but kind when offended. Identify what type of reactor you are and how to significantly improve your communication. Respond with no regrets by managing your tendencies to stuff, explode, or react somewhere in between. Gain a deep sense of calm by responding to situations out of your control without acting out of control.
Lysa TerKeurst is the New York Times bestselling author of Made to Crave and Unglued. She isn't shy about admitting what a mess she can be. But she's been learning God's lessons and sharing them on her blog (www.LysaTerKeurst.com) and in her books. Lysa is president of Proverbs 31 Ministries and writes from her sticky farm table in North Carolina where she lives with her husband, Art, five kids, three dogs, and mouse that refuses to leave her kitchen.

At the time of purchasing, I had just started reading The Best Yes. Typically, I have a few books going at one time with several on my nightstand and hundreds on my to read list. I began Unglued and was very eager to relate with Lysa like I had while devouring The Best Yes. Yes, Unglued was a great read, and I found myself relating to many of the circumstances that TerKeust describes; however, the book was full of her being angry at friends, family members, strangers, etc., with no actual solutions to managing meltdowns.
I continued to read, because if I start something, especially if I pay for it, I will finish it. I even sat it down for a couple weeks. Finally, I picked it back up and continued to read. Perhaps it was because I needed a Lysa break or maybe the second part of the book is better, but when I began reading for the second time, I quickly finished the book in two settings.
My biggest takeaway from Unglued is that these moments are opportunities to expand, grow, and extend our grace toward others. In addition, it is okay to be broken as long as we turn toward scripture and lean on Gods promises.

I have spent my life stuffing emotions and spewing and hurting the ones I love so dearly. Even after 30 plus years of being a Christian, I struggled with this issue. I have read "Unglued" through 3 times, passed it on to a daughter, but will purchase another copy so I can reread this again.

It helped me learn to have a different perspective on how to deal with stress. Could read this again and probably get something I didn't the first time. helped me to understand I need to quit stuffing and deal with things before they become too much. I felt the book was speaking directly too me.
Q: study guide verses participants guide The book Unglued has additional help that goes with it. What is the difference between a study guide verses a participants guide. I don't know what would be best to buy with the book.Thank you, Linda Rafkin aka candlewitness
The only difference is that the Study Guide (WW688204) is a hardcover with the DVD inside the book and the Participants Guide (WW893165) is a softcover with the DVD in a separate case. The Participant's Guide is also available without the DVD (WW0892151), but must be used with the DVD study.
