Superb and ideal for any serious student and teacher of scripture, you will not get this perspective from any University: ideal for any one that takes John 5:39 to heart and desires to apply it to the utmost to their knowledge of the Truth of God's dealing with mankind ....God bless all in YESHUA'S name to expand their knowledge and delight in Him of whom we belong to by His precious redeeming blood....Amen

Unger's Commentary on the Old Testament is a remarkably helpful book. In fact, I venture to say that it is the best single volume (but originally 2 volumes) commentary on the Old Testament ever written. It has choice insights into the language, culture, archaeology, cross references, context, outlines, and exegetically significant details of any given passage. When I assign this book for students in my Old Testament classes I consistently get comments on how excellent this book is. NOTE: This is not Unger's Bible Handbook. It is far different: much more detailed. His treatment of Messianic passages in the Old Testament is alone worth the price of the book.

Easy to use, easy to find verses. Good explanations and cross references to most of the verses. I've already used it a lot in the short time I've had it. Good for Bible study preparation and packed with information.

Unger's Commentary on the Old Testament is a classic in the area of the Old Testament. Unger's expertise in Semitic languages and archaeological background of the Old Testament enhances the commentary by provides the beginning student and biblical scholar with the literal translation of the Hebrew text and historical information on the history of Israel. The book is an excellent resource for the christian who want to understand and study the Old Testament.

This is one of the better commetaries I have ever used. The Hebrew definitions and overall clarity of the text make Bible study come alive.
